  1. Unless I'm missing something, which could be the case, I assume they are brought up for "numbers" in case of injury. I'm assuming most of the players brought up are Frosh starters? If that's the case they're getting time during their respective games. The majority of the JV players see very little time at the varsity level. Therefore, they deserve to get their time during JV games. Your comment on Jake is accurate and deserved. Jake has stepped up and gotten the job done under difficult circumstances.
  2. It's been heard, that any of the players from last years 8th grade team that had "issues" last year will not make the Freshman squad this year.
  3. I'd add Grubbs to the list of Sophomores that could see some Varsity PT. As for the Junior class I hear a few are not coming back to even tryout.
  4. Any reason for the cancellation? Doesn't this mean SK will play 3 games within 1 week?
  5. No wonder I didn't see you at the HHS/Scott game!!!!
  6. What's Lex. Cath's record and who have they played?
  7. Fortunately for everyone, these two teams play twice this year. The next game is scheduled for November 3, 10:00 a.m. @ Cov. Cath.:jump:
  8. I'd rather not talk specifics about their injuries.
  9. Spencer Bankamper and Teddy Abner. Both of them would have started as JV LB's and saw action in some varsity games.
  10. Huddleston was the other Sticky. Keep in mind all 4 of these players have moved up to help at the LB position. Currently the only JV LB that's been practicing at that position is Blake Newman. The others, Bankamper, Alford and Abner are out with injuries. Two of them were season ending injuries. Last night I saw and 2 O-lineman playing LB.
  11. With Crawford it's a track meet to the corner that's for sure. If he get's there as LN pointed out he's got the speed to score anytime. Looking ahead to next year which is very pre-mature on my part, but I think he'll be a great addition to the backfield with Josh. How about Oliver's interception run back for a touchdown right before halftime. It reminded me of the Oliver we saw in the FTJFL. Hunter Schlosser will find his way onto the Varsity O-line next year at one of the Guard positions. He's fundamentally sound and will be a force trap blocking with his speed and aggressiveness. Nice game all around for the Birds. Keep working hard young men.
  12. Thanks for the confirmation. Go Birds!
  13. Is your source reliable?
  14. I heard pre-game was going to be right after school.
  15. I couldn't agree more with LN regarding the behavior and comments made from the Dixie fan(s). Besides giving it to the refs, Dixie coaches, HHS coaches, and scoreboard operator he voiced his improper comments to a HHS mom who and cheered for her son after he made an interception. The fact is, this young man rarely gets onto the field unless it's on a special team. As I sat and listened to this fan all morning, I couldn't help but think what Coach Spritzkey was thinking. He was at the game with his parents sitting up to the left of this guy. Knowing Tom, he will continue coaching his players to improve their football skills. As for the fan, I don't think there's a cure to help him. Overall, a great game by the JV Birds. Keep working hard...............
  16. Why are there no Pre-sale tickets available for this game? Neither school is offering them. Why? Who makes the call on this sort of thing?
  17. We saw the number of friends you had on the endzone bleachers with you last Saturday at Holmes..............I was ready to join you, but you headed out to watch Centre play.
  18. Don't forget your Thursday evening visitors tonight Henry......:dancingpa
  19. This has nothing to do with the Frosh football game. But, if you ask the soccer players they'd rather keep the field grass for some reason. I know absolutely nothing about soccer but that's what I've heard.
  20. From memory, which isin't much these days, last years Frosh game with Boone Co. was suppose to be played at Boone on a Thursday. During that week we had a few days of rain and Boone's Varisty team had a game scheduled at home Friday and didn't want the field torn up prior to their game. I'm guessing they want their home game back..............I say put in turf!
  21. Kicker #82 Adam Weinel. Hit the game winning PAT. Talk about pressure!!!!
  22. This "streak" could become a very positive thing if handled properly by the players and coaches. It's possible this group of Freshman could use the "streak" as a motivational factor. Dedicate yourself to the TEAM and to each other as teammates. Put aside all the negative influences and work TOGETHER to obtain team goals. This team has just as many "athletes". "football players", and "hard working kids" as the other HHS teams have had. If they accomplish their goal by extending the "streak, they will also accomplish the goal of silencing the so called critics. Good Luck to all of them!
  23. I agree. Until someone knocks off HHS they're the team to beat. The young Birds will have their work cut out for them, but I'm sure they're up to the test. They've got alot of talent and with the numbers in "Death Valley" so far I'm sure they'll find players to fill any obvious holes. Good luck to all of them.
  24. All the above, but needs to improve on his aggressiveness
  25. 6'0 and nothing like his father, just ask Mom:banana: . He has long arms and can jump out of the gym. Stephen is a smart player and does things right on the court.
