  1. No harm, no foul!!:thumb: Believe me, I wasnt gettin excited. I dont let stuff on here get me worked up, I can promise ya that. I was just makin sure or clearing the air, so to speak...I'm with ya on getting excited about the Titans this year. Im lookin forward to it!!
  2. Who's ripping anybody?! If you are saying that Im ripping SK, Im not, I truly do like that logo, it's sharp..in the previous post, I was just making a tounge and cheek/sarcastic comment..all in fun, of course. ..Now, if your comment was towards someone else, then I apologize and will let that be done.:thumb: And, Im not for certain, but from your comment "However, with an "SK" for your logo, you dont need to be ripping anyone else about creativity"..its seems like you think Im a Simon Kenton person..which Im not. Im not against them, have no reason to be, but Im not one of theirs
  3. ..in a real game situation, the quarterback isnt going to have 4 seconds to just sit back in the pocket everyplay, if they do, then their offensive line will be more than just a "semblance" of one, buddy!
  4. When you count to 4, 10 men can't cover 5 unless you play man under 2 deep which they don't. Some teams will drop 8 against spread teams with no backs especially when they can't stunt. You can also line up with 8 and have 1 guy take a knee in these passing leagues which is probably what they did because the guy who takes a knee is probably rushing the QB.
  5. Thats the logo for now, who's to say they wont come up with another one. Personally, I like it, whether it's a pro team logo or not..we cant all be as unique as you Simon Kenton'ers..that's really our aspiration, though, to be as creative as y'all!! :jump:
  6. I found this on the Mercer County Website..the new school logo's, a copy of the Tennessee Titan, but in any case..pretty sharp!! http://www.mercer.k12.ky.us
  7. Johnson is overweight. He was overweight in high school and that's what cost Ft. Campbell in the playoffs when he got tired and cramped up.He could end up with his hand down in college and never play LB'er.
  8. I wont be able to make the trip, and it's not that I dont want too....but, beat the crap out of the Smokey Mountain boys for the 5th time in 6 years (is that correct)?!! Go BLUE!!
  9. Im sure theres plenty of us who could have thought of a better name, but we're all going to be a little biased to what WE think sounds good. It's not our school, it's the kids..and whatever they choose on, as long as its within reason and not totally ridiculous, then, should be the name. I kinda like the "Trail Blazers". I think it's a name that will grow on people..my only thing, is that, in time, they will turn into just, the "Blazers" and not "Trail Blazers". Which, actually, I like the sounds of that better. I agree with you about Portland, though, those Trail Blazers seem to be nothin but a bunch of criminals. ..If Im not mistaken, I believe, UAB started out as the Trail Blazers, and now they're pretty much just known as the "Blazers".
  10. Frances- My bad, after reading your post again, I agree with everything you said. :ylsuper:
  11. To say that Coach Hart has better knowledge of offenses because of his college experience and love for the game is overrated. In college about all you see is some version of the I .In high school , you will see a different offense each week of the season and a different defense.Roy Kidd , who coach Hart coached under, ran the I formation forever and he played either a 4-3 defense or a 50. In high school you might see a 3-5-3 one week than a split 6 the folowing week than a wide tackle 6 the next week. I agree with everything else you said.
  12. Ask Belfry,Russell and Mayfield if they like the spread. I guess they just have superior atheletes also. You name all the spread teams that have won the State Title and I'll name the 3back teams.I guess you don't have to have superior atletes to run the spread. Just take an average QB and average receivers and you can win with the Hal Mumme offense. :D  :scared:
  13. ...and here we go, again.... As Mountain Thunder pointed out earlier, Mercerburg, Jaggers and Co. are in the ole situation of "Danged if you do, danged if you dont". If they win state, some will say, "Told you they had a big advantage, not fair." If they dont win it all, some will be calling for his job... I, for one, find it all quite amusing....
  14. I dont know which I like, yet. Im open to all of them really, still staying with 4, moving to 5, I even see some good in 6. All have their pro's and cons. I guess that issue is out of our hands, though...alright, Im done being sidetracked off the original topic of this board..my fault.haha
  15. Im with you there MT!! :thumb: Thats why I think all of this talk about Mercer having an advantage for a year needs to be dropped, and not even worried about..especially, when you look at how spread out the numbers in Class 4A are...and this should be on a different thread, so I apologize, but when you look at those numbers, it does kind of make sense why we should have another class or two in the state, huh?!
  16. Read what I posted, again, carefully, and you'll see that I mentioned Mercer would have a 300+ or so advantage over the the smallest(s) school(s) in 2A. The reason I mentioned Western and Lone Oak was to point out that, in comparison, Mercer wont have many more than they have than the current biggest schools in 2A. ....It says that CAL has an enrollment of 616, and Im going to say it again, so that this time you definately wont miss it. But, I posted in the original message that Mercer would have somewhere around a 300+ advantage over 2A's smallest school(s). Mercer's enrollment will be between 900-950, and if I have remembered enough of the math I learned in elementary school, then that difference will be around 300 between CAL and Mercer. ..So, do this, next time, how about you carefully read what I post, then carefully watch what you say in your post, then try and argue your point?! :jump: :dancingpa
  17. If this is going to keep on getting brough up, then, sure, there is more of an "unlevel" playing field in 4A moreso than anything. Check out the KHSAA site, Dunbar(2200) being the highest enrollment in 4A and Lincoln Co.(1200)...now, if you want to look at "unlevel", thats unlevel, a difference in a 1000 students, playing in the same class...Mercer would only have a 300+ advantage, if that, over the smallest 2A schools. With the new merger, Mercer's enrollment will be somewhere between 900-950, depending on the exact number of kids that H'burg will be bringing (the KHSAA site says it's 226, but Ive heard, from very reliable sources, that it's actually about 190)..so, give or take, somewhere between 900-950... ..but, according to those numbers, L'ville Western (904) and Lone Oak(840) are the next biggest in 2A...that's just the way things happen to be sometimes, and in this case, sometime being, one year.
  18. It's my understanding that some of the kids will be in both school building throughout the day, depending on certain classes that they may take. :thumb:
  19. If I have heard correct, some of the students, maybe not all, depending on the classes they take will be "mixed" together throughout the school day, at both H'burg and Mercer Co. classes. Those kids will just be bused over, which wont be much different for some of the current H'burg students who opt to take classes at Mercer for Vocational classes.
  20. Do you even realize how much work it takes to get kids who have been teammates all their lives to play with a chemistry to win a state championship, not to mention, in this case, joining two teams who have, in a sense, grown up as each others arch rival!!?? This thing will take time to live up to the standards of some outsiders(fans). They may win it next year, and they may not..if they dont, it's no reason to get rid of Jaggers. He's a great coach, and if anybody can lead this ship to sailing in the right direction, it's him...it might be a cliche thing to say, but the whole " total team effort" thing that is used, well, that's exactly what will be needed for this merger to reach it's expectations. I mean, complete, 100% effort from not only the staff, players and school, but from the ENTIRE Mercer/H'burg community, especially the parents. Best of luck!! :thumb:
