  1. JC 60 Logan 6 Thank South Laurel for the sound clips. It'd be nice if we could come up with something original. I, for one, could do without the karioke at halftime, although the little "Dixie Chicks" did a nice job with My Old Kentucky Home and The National Anthem. I would have rather seen 15 minutes of South Point's band; they were good, and made that trip all the way down here.
  2. South Point is better than Belfry.
  3. Those timeouts had to be used to stop confusion on the defensive side of the ball...So it was rather that, or give South Point another 6 on the board.
  4. Yep, that's more like it.
  5. Our defense sure made them look bad, as it tends to do, but I also thought they protected him about as well as we protected JK in passing situations. We need to work on that. After starting the game with 10 or 15 straight runs, I really thought it would have them looking for the run all night, but whether it was a bad snap or defensive pressure, JK needs just a little more time. Maybe that's why we turned to the option a few times, which is something I didn't think we'd see much of this year.
  6. And I was for a field goal attempt at the end of the first half. That's what I thought they were setting up for with the spike.
  7. Its a Putnam thing.
  8. Where's this one played?
  9. I hope so. I saw play by play man (very nice job for a weather man) Jim Freeman later that evening, and said if Ashland was in the viewing area, that would be a nice TV game. He agreed, and we talked about "the field goal", but never got any confirmation. Regardless, I've got it "circled" and will be filming it from the stands with my little Sony. Hope the "Pond Creek" (makes no sense if you think about it) nation watches too, so we can compare that "scrimmage" laugher to a head-to-head (or as close as we'll get...chickens) regular season game.
  10. I like it... Mason gets the win, Montgomery gets the lift. Our 3A will make some noise this year, and our (THE Golden Eagles) 5A looks like it has a nice head knockin' district brewing next year.
  11. Pretty sure there were 5 picks, but I could be wrong.
  12. sacked 3 times by the nose guard....and that nose guard also picked couch off once.
  13. I wasn't there, but a friend whose kid played for SC told me about it. I never really believed him, but after watching Smith tonight, I do. I told my youngun' just wait until the end of the year, and see who Smith had his worst game against. If he makes it big, these kids will always have that.
  14. Little Dillon looked better in the varsity game than the freshman game.
  15. I saw him on one knee, and stand flat footed and throw it 60 yards. I heard that Jared Lorenzon did the same thing when Highlands came to Sheldon Clark for a playoff game a few years ago. Both of the Dillon boys are young, and both played great. The future is bright. Most teams can't lose Taylor, and Johnson, and Tackett, and Ousley, etc., without dropping off. Coach Matney, as you can tell, has no intention of dropping off. Just reloading, and remember that one of our best, sophomore Chase Richardson, hasn't even played a regular season game. Ah.....
  16. Apparently so. They throw that stuff together fast though, so I'll assume it was a mistake.
  17. Yikes! That plus 2 divided by 2, and Rock has a nice offensive average again.
  18. Had to be a mistake. The poll is subjective on their part, but that can't be right. Anyway, can't wait for Logan!!
  19. I don't know. I just saw the WYMT Mountain Top 10, and Belfry jumped from 3 to 2, and Johnson Central is still 5th. So Ashland, if you were in the Hazard viewing area, I guess you'd be number 1! Jeez....what's up over at YMT?
  20. I don't know Xyience. I thought that was the best team we've seen in 2 scrimmages and 2 games. Smith can run and throw, and to be honest, I questioned their play calling. Tell me I didn't just see Belfry move up to number 2 in the WYMT Mountain Top 10 after losing to Ashland???????
  21. Way to go Tomcats! Frances, Brewdog picked it. Didn't like it, but I saw this coming. Glad you fanatics can stop wallowing for awhile, With the new alignment, we're gonna have fun for years to come.
  22. Now we know. Thanks for the research/knowledge, "good buddy".
  23. They did! It wasn't the prettiest thing in the world (Jim Turner? George Blanda? Who was that masked Hoss?), but it split those babies.
  24. I've said it before, and will again. You can generally tell who the better team is during a scrimmage. If Rock, no matter what the format, scored 30 and NL scored 6 (or whatever), I'd assume that would have approximated a real game, where both teams played conservative. I'd further assume that a real game the following week would not be that different.
