While I wasn't there either, I am amazed how quick our opinions are about something we know little about. :irked:

Coaches from all sports should work together to allow players participate in any sport he or she chooses. I think what you are describing happens a lot. Welcome to BGP!

I think that is what makes the Hoosier story so great!! The fact it doesn't happen very often.

When your district record is all that REALLY matters, it is idiotic for coaches to find "sure wins". We all would like a couple to keep your confidence. But good teams can point out weaknesses for you to correct for the playoffs. With almost all of the teams making the playoffs, the focus should be on the playoffs and how to make your team peak at the right time.

I went last year and I agree with you both. I felt that I wasn't missing much. I have yet gone to the Glazier clinic. That may be something I do next year. Who were the speakers this year?

I wasn't able to go, but I want anybody who went to describe what they got out of it and such. Was it worth the money?

I have officiated a few football games in youth leagues and a few freshmen and JV games. My experience is that there is not enough teaching from the start. It is more of self-evaluation and self-teaching. It would be nice if there was an internship program, a mentoring program, or something along those lines. But the lack of resources would be the biggest challenge. Basketball is far tougher than football when it comes to immediate criticism. Also in football, you have a couple seconds more to make a decision.

They had a lot of experience this past year. How many do they have coming back. I'll say this: the school is surrounded by beautiful neighborhoods. And the school has excellent facilities.

Are they still running the Franklin offense?

They are returning around 16-19 starters from last year. I think that Engstrand has a group that could make some noise. They are my favorites for district.

You're correct. Cooke and another girl moved to Texas.

Mojo Hollowell. He was a great motivator and an inspiration. All his players would go through a brick wall for him. I believe he is still in the top 5 all-time for wins in the state.
