No Franklin Simpson and you put Shelby Co. at 6?:no: That's straight up a homer pick there. No way you can justify them at 6 and have not at least mentioned Franklin Simpson or Franklin Co. who thumped Shelby 30-3.

The teams they have demolished have been bad teams. JC has beaten some good teams thus far, Capital (WV), South Charleston (WV), and Henry Clay. JC will be have one more blowout victory before the level of competition turns up with Ashland on the road and then Belfry on the road, a game i suspect they will lose. If JC were in any other class this year besides 1A, I would suspect they would be middle of the pack.

If Paintsville wins convincingly this week against Hazard, it is possible they leap from KCD for the #2 spot?

Everyone can agree that Cov Cath and BG are two very good squads, at least top 10 across the state. But Im not sold on Christian Co. nor South Warren. They are good clubs, but probably in the 20-25 range for me.

I'm not sure. In the last 8 years or so of the 4 Class system JC was bounced from 4A to 3A nearly ever alignment cycle. I think Lawrence Co. primarily handled that district in the old system but not positive.

After Haddix seen the Pirates last night in person, he'll push the Redhounds to perfect each aspect of their game. Corbin rolls Dudleys club on Log Mountain to the tune of a running clock.

I'm going with the Bulldogs in this one. Maybe the premier matchup across the state this week.

Good point. So would you say the 6 Class system has made this better, worse, or no change at all? It seemed to me District play was more competitive across the board when there were nearly 8 teams per District with only 4 making the playoffs.

It seems as district play begins many of the games are blowouts and lack luster. I would venture to say nearly 50% of the districts throughout the state have a team that stands alone among its competition. Do you think the 6 Class system has hurt the competition within district play or helped it?

Rowan will be the 4 seed in the district, but they still won't be able to compete with JC. JC works on things before the level of competition gets turned up from here on out.

Belfrys squandering of there game with Huntington, which has proven to be a top team in WV, gave others false hope Im afraid. It's hard to believe a team could lose the talent the Pirates lost last year and be playing at the level they are now. As any Haywood team, these Pirates continue to get better as the season progresses, which is bad for everyone else.
