LC99 your analysis is great (again) of Somerset. Somerset will need someone to step up and run the ball for them. We do have Kenny Hughes returning but lack a proven tailback. Probable starter A.T. Hunter had an accident last month and will not be back for several weeks.

Should be a great game between two great programs. I'm not for sure who all Southwestern returns as a whole but Dale Anderson will have is guys ready. Danville returns most of last years team so I would give them a slight edge.

At first I had my hesitations with this idea, but I have since changed my mind. 2A will be loaded with the likes of Bardstown, Corbin, Danville, Fort Campbell, Fort Knox, Glascow, Lexington Christian, Middlesboro, Newport Catholic, Pikeville, Owesboro Catholic, and of course Somerset. Sorry guys I know there are others that deserve to be in this list. Just imagine Somerset, Corbin, and Middlesboro being in the same district again, wow it gives me chills- what great rivalries we had with Corbin and Middlesboro in the past.

Somerset plays a very tough schedule year in and year out! As for out QB we have two very good QB's in Ross Deaton and Chase Hall. QB is where we have the most depth at. Our question mark will be at tailback and our secondary on defense.

Looks fair enough for me, maybe drop Mayfield to #5 and move the others up in order.

Somerset might lose, but don't underestimate us. We lost a lot of Seniors but return a good Senior and Junior class. Have several skilled players returning.

Besides Somerset I pull for Pulaski, Southwestern and keep up some on Corbin.

Thats the first that I have heard of this meeting with a parent and Mr. Sears. However, it is true that most of the parents wanted Coach Brown out at Somerset (at least all that I know). But I can assure you that as a whole the booster club (parents) did not get to meet with the school administration (Sears, Tucker, or Perkins) to talk about Coach Brown. The phone call was made to set up a meeting and was told to just hold on that news would be coming out of Somerset soon. The news of Coach Browns firing came that same afternoon. From my own perspective he just didn't make the right in game decisions to win some of those close ballgames. Did having his two best players injured effect this? Absolutely but this has been building up over the last two years. I also know for a fact that he hurt his own case when in one close "Big" district game he put two middle school girls in. Neither of these two had played the whole game and one for sure didn't have any business at all entering the game (not even close to the high school level yet). It is also an understanding of mine that when Coach Brown and Mr. Sears met that Mr. Sears told him that the girls were making the same mistakes in the District Tournament that they made in the beginning of the season-no progress. It is very hard for me to believe that Mr. Sears didn't know who was hurt during the year, Mr. Sears was at several games. Let me also say that I have no personal interest in who is the Somerset High Girls Coach, I am not a parent of any Somerset High School athlete nor am I in any way associated with any booster club. Me saying that Coach Adkins was a very good fit for the Somerset program had no bearing at all with my belief in Coach Brown.

I would bet that he will do much better than Coach Brown. I like Coach Brown as a person, I think he's a great guy. However, I dont think that he was a good fit at Somerset. I don't know why but the girls just didnt respect the man.

as of right now he doesnt know if the school is going to hire his want to be assistants. he told the girls this today at an after school meeting.

I think that he will do fine, almost a perfect fit in my opinion. He seems to be well liked by most of the girls and has a great knowledge of basketball (esp. defense).

I thought he liked coke and popcorn during games.

I've been hearing that Chris Adkins will probably be the next girls coach. Should be a good fit if it is so, he led the upcoming Senior and Junior girls to a 40 (some) and 5 combined record while coaching them in Middle School.

Would you please explain how Scott Co. has clearly passed Somerset?

St. X in a runaway. I do however believe that my Somerset Briar Jumpers should fall as second best. Hey you can't win them all.

Somerset will be there competing for the regional championship. I would consider Somerset/Pikeville regional favorites for 2006.

I'm not for sure on that one but I can tell you this, I know a girl who's family lives here in Somerset and she goes to Lexington Catholic. She is living with a family friend until she graduates this year.

Somerset takes a very large crowd to the All "A", I had planned on going but had to work late. :mad:

yes he plays some off of the bench, not much of a scoring threat but does well on the boards and ball handling

I say that the team wearing purple and gold wins tonight...ha ha

So far Somerset is not playing too well, seems that Bardstown is a little more aggresive in the 1st quarter.

Does anyone know the score of this game or how to get it? Not on the radio here in Somerset that I know of.

I wondered the same thing when I read the paper today.
