AverageJoesGym Posted January 12, 2006 Posted January 12, 2006 I noticed in the box score and game description from the PC/Garrard Co. game on Monday that Ty Perkins was not mentioned. He had that key technical foul called on him at the end of the PC/Somerset game on Thursday. I was wondering if he was sick, held out of the game by the coaching staff or left the team. It seemed as though the head coach was very upset after the technical--however, the paper didn't mention why he didn't play. I was just wondering if anyone had any information--I know he wasn't ejected so it couldn't be a KHSAA suspension.
jumper1 Posted January 12, 2006 Posted January 12, 2006 I wondered the same thing when I read the paper today.
UnderPar Posted January 12, 2006 Posted January 12, 2006 It was a coaching decision to sit him so I am told.

shs2005 Posted January 12, 2006 Posted January 12, 2006 Maybe the Principal had a say in it also. I was told that the school had a new policy because of the excessive Techinical Fouls that they recieve. The policy states that if you have one technical foul that you have to sit a game. Two gets you a week on the bench, and if you recieve a third technical you must sit for a month. If your wondering why Ty doesnt have to sit for a month, it is because Pulaski Principal Mike Deaton didnt put the rule into effect until after the problems that he saw during the Somerset/Pulaski game.

Sounds like a policy that Pulaski Co. needed, maybe this will help.
hardball Posted January 13, 2006 Posted January 13, 2006 Fraley made the rule before basketball season started. The players signed a sheet in agreement. Deaton had nothing to do with it.
