Too much politics in Jefferson County involved with officiating. That's one reason why they are hurting for refs around here.

No, he's not a "hero". He has directed a defense that is allowing 30 points per game against St. X(90 points in 3 games). The largest factor was adding the offensive linemen to the mix on defense. Better talent makes for a "better coach". The Rocks took this one. We'll see how the defense performs next September.

It may be stuck on 4011 Shelbyville Rd for a while. The Manual game was the #2 for the Rocks. Manual had more overall talent, but that darn teamwork thing always gets in their way.

You're telling us that good ole U of L or the KHSAA benefitted from the timeouts during the games for the closed circuit feed within the stadium so the folks in food lines and on the B & W floor could have some wonderful advertising to go with their football enjoyment?

I hope so. I think the whole deal is wrong. A kid should be empowered to leave a private and attend a public school of his choice as long as he meets their standards academically. If the public school charges tuition, then the athlete/student can pay the tuition. I never heard if the kid received a release from his old school. If both schools approve, the KHSAA and everyone else should leave it alone. But that's for another day and another thread. If you all have 19, then by all means your championship t-shirts should reflect it! Believe me, if Trinity had gone undefeated in 1956, it would be on evry garment and cap that lists state titles!

Trinity did not have more individual talent. Trinity played better as a team. Same goes for St. X. Their QB has no D-1 offers. One lineman does. None of their receivers or DBs will play D-1. Anderson may develop into a Div 1 RB or wideout or DB. None of Trinity's Seniors will get offers from Div-1 NCAA schools. Junior class may get one. One soph probably will if he continues to develop.

Have Elder and Dougherty been offered any D1 scolarships?

I'm not sure I've been told that Eric could pretty much have his pick of the Ivy League schools.

I guess the difference is Trinity can take a piece of coal and turn it into a diamond, HC just gets the diamond and does not know what to od with it.Ram, Senn and Donnell went pretty much every down and the linemen were in about 90% of the time.

I was told the timeouts were for radio the state did not tape the games this year from what I have heard.( pretty goofy to take timeouts for radio IMO)

This is too good of a thread to pass up. First, I give St. X credit for their 2 titles because they were undefeated. The years 1956 and 1957 appear on their banner in their gym and I think they deserve those for sure. Male counts their pre '59 titles in their program as well as Manual. My understanding, this was a litkenhous rating deal back in the day. Who won 1958? The Jefferson County Champion was considered the big school champion by the state from 1959 until 1975! Ohio has only had "official" champs in football since 1972! The big school runner up this year, Massillon, has 22 "mythical" state titles. They have one of the more storied histories in high school football. Danville claims some pre-'59 titles. You may forget that your last back to back championships came with playoff victories over Trinity by 3-0 and 11-10 scores. Talk about escaping! Trinity was 6 points away from a "6-peat" in 1972-1977!

Jefferson County Schools generally do not have eighth graders at their school. A handful may play across the county. There is no middle school program and that is one of the reasons they lag behind the private schools in this team sport.

I really don't know if St.X even makes it as far as the state game if they had endured the injuries all season long that Trinity had. rember that JH game was very close.

I just wonder if cosch Glaser played all 100 players again ? I'd wager to say NO!!!!. I feel for Curley and was hoping he'd be alright when I saw him on the ground .BUT I also think Trinity's defense had a little to do with him not being that effective .(they were hitting pretty darn hard).

No I,m pretty sure that he is friends with a few Trinity supporters, He was in the kaboose with some of the guys I know before the game.

I'm speechless right now, I think that this was the sweetest state win of all the one's I've seen in my life. Congrats to ST.X on a excellent season . To my rocks well I just don't know what to say except how proud of you guys I am, I had faith I said it would be 31 -27 Trinity, but 14 - 6 is great.

I do not agree on several points, 1 I seem to recall couple of 3rd and short and a huge forth and 1 at the HC 48 that they could for some reason not get , and as for the cb. being one of the shortest on the field that was Senn he's every bit of 6'0 tall (and soon to be an Ivy league man).

What do you consider deep in Trinity's territory just across the 50? I don't recall all their turnovers beeing deep in our territory.
