Colonel Henderson

It has been true for at least two years.

Henderson can beat those guys. Owensboro's defense is great, but Henderson seemed to move the ball a bit better than Owensboro. The score is completely misleading. Without those two punts, Henderson does not start forcing the pass and get the INT. -- Owensboro has been preparing for the Cols since the end of last season.

Senior had two blocks or Henderson had two of the worst punts I have ever seen about five feet off the ground returned around the line for TDs. I could not tell what happened. Also, our QB threw a pick at the end that was returned for a TD. All that happened in the last 7 minutes of the game or so. I am to ______ to write about it anymore. It was 12-6 Henderson before that happened.

I am not sure I can explain the end of the game, so I will leave it to someone else. The last three TDs were scored for Owensboro without their offense ever taking the field.

Someone is going to have one heck of a first round game. This game is very important for both teams especially Marshall.

58, turnovers are the only way Senior gets 28. Are you saying Senior will not have to pass on Henderson to move the ball? Owensboro has been held down by lesser or equal defenses. How will they score 28? I think Henderson is a bit better than John Hardin on defense. 109 rushing yards against JH. 1.5 yards a play against Mater Dei. Hall's 150 yards a game comes from games like DC, 216 yards. Senior might get 28 with turnovers and passing, but what about their offense? How many fumbles, dropped passes, and penalties will we see. 28-14?

North Hardin is better than Apollo. I have seen both.

The ref! I would worry about him being in position to make the calls. You could use him as a screen too.

Henderson had control 23-3 in the third, but Apollo started passing all over Henderson and cut the lead to 6 points. I think the QB was a backup. I am not sure if we stink on pass defense with all seniors back there, or if Duffy decided not to work on pass this week(something that happens to much), which should not matter as much as it did, or if Apollo's backup is really good. It might be all of the above, but one thing about it, I am tired of watching Tom and Duffers pass defense. It is the worst thing they do. On the other hand, I am not sure I would trade either of them for anyone I have seen around here.

Heck, I had fun watching him last year when they beat us in the playoffs.

1)Sept. 15 was basically the last time Henderson played anyone. 2)Apollo's offense will hurt Apollo's defense more than Lightfoot or Gillham.

Well, some of this is from KP and some of it is on here. I was just providing information. If the SEC fans all voted on a national poll, would that not change the rankings? I just assumed that since people got so stirred about one guy just throwing teams around in his poll that there was an interest in making them correct. Maybe I am wrong. In the interest of group harmony, I will remove myself from Dfire's poll threads. :cry:

Heck, I can't even remember what I was arguing about. I think the fun I was having with Dfire last year is coming back to bite me. He is trying to say because Henderson lost to Christian that Henderson was worse or would finsh behind Marshall?, Graves?, WC, and Christian. I think that point can be debated. It is not like I had Henderson above WC. I had them second, but Dfire wants to take that 5 point lose to Christian as complete proof that they would have finish 4th or 5th in your district.

Number one: we were debating one ranking!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Marshall lost by 29 to a team Henderson beat by 37 points. Since Henderson lost to Christian a team that lost by one to WC in the region final, I'm not really sure what you are trying to say. Henderson was very much in the ball park-6 points comparing scores from the region title. Henderson would not have finished fourth-I even said it was a bad matchup before the game, and your polls had them just one, count them, one rank off from what I had. Number two: Look at this poll---you, westsider, Cynical, Chicks dig Scars. I wonder how many people voted verses how many people are from your neck of the woods. I stand by my statement. Number three: I even said, I will post it again, that Henderson did not match up well with Christian. Bottom line is Christian was 2nd! in the region by one point, and Henderson lost to them by 5 points. I even had WC ahead off Henderson most of the season.

I had them 2nd in the region at the end of last year & 3rd overall. The final poll had Henderson ranked about where I had them (4th overall). Not sure if a 5 point lose proves Henderson was not as good as the others in that district. What about that 29 point Marshall lose??? Christian beat WC the next week. Christian was the worst matchup for Henderson of the three teams because Tandy could scramble enough to beat our weak secondary. Apollo??? Why are they on here?

The Mater Dei score is more reflective of the weather. That was the day after the rains, and Evansville got the worst of it. North's speed ment nothing and players fell all over the place, which includes their secondary falling after making cuts. If you can contain the running game, you have to get pressure on their QB to win. Their coach is just bad enough to keep passing no matter how much he should keep it on the ground. If you watch any tapes at all, you can call the plays half the time. They have big lines. This makes them different than most speed teams. Go look at the pics on that website when they played Henderson. However, their o-line is slow, and can be beat. Thats Apollo's best chance to stay in the game. North might have a letdown after the last game. But I think your looking at a 20+ win for North.

I never noticed that before. West(before the game)-"I think Henderson is the best team we've played so far. They have several good weapons and on defense, they are sound," Thomas said.

I'm sorry, PT had 78 yards going into the 4th. Still to suggest adding passes would have made it closer would mean taking away the 14 against the subs and adding our starters in the 4th. That might have made the final score worse even with those catches. Thanks for some of the stats dfire.

While it may be true they dropped some passes, Henderson, as Duffer said after North Hardin does not prepare for pass against some teams (I hate that). This is a pretty good secondary. PT could have been a big time blowout if Duffy had not called off the dogs faster than usual. Our second back had over a hundred yards at half. There is not much to say when 5 can block 8? Bad night??? PT had total offensive yards around 264, but about 250 of that came against our subs in the 4th. A few passes does not matter with numers like that. Does anyone have game stats for the WC/Graves game?

Never said they were not decent because they will win more than they lose. I have just been saying they were not at WCs level or even close. I am pretty sure after listening to PTs coach, it was very much their worst night of the season when I saw them. I am getting pretty use to seeing teams on their worst night. :thumb:
