Apollo's run should be over after this week. I don't know too much about North but they are probably like most Evansville teams.

 

Daviess Co 0 Owensboro 42

Too much OHS. Don't expect much from DC in this one.

 

OCath 28 Monroe 21

Monroe will run on OCath's poor run defense, but OCath is also starting to play well on offense. Should be a great game and I expect Monroe to give the Aces all they want and then some. OCath has a little more than Monroe in the end.

 

Ohio Co 0 Henderson 42

This game will be a lot like the OHS vs. DC game.

How did Ohio lose to Grayson?

 

North might have a letdown after the Evansville Rietz game.

I'll be surprised if Monroe plays Owensboro Catholic that closely ...

Evansville North 21, Apollo 14-The North Huskies are a "Jeckel and Hyde" team. They get clobbered by Mater Dei, but turn right around and beat Evansville Reitz. Go figure. It looks to me that North's weakness is defending the pass which North shouldn't have to worry too much about against Apollo. This is also another chance for the Eagles to prove the critics wrong about their umblemished record.

 

Owensboro 42, Daviess County 7-The Red Devils have had a long two week layoff after the Male game was cancelled and a bye week. OHS is itching to get back on the field, but I expect some rust. Hopefully OHS will get it done and get the starters out relativly early.

 

Owensboro Catholic 35, Monroe County 21-I expect that Monroe will run the ball at the Aces behind Billy Joe Murphy who commited to UK, but someone in Western Ky 2A is going to have to show they can stop Catholic's passing game before I pick the Aces to lose.

 

Henderson County 56, Ohio County 14-Look for the Colonels to roll here.

Apollo 21 Evansville North- 14

 

Catholic- 48- Monroe Co. 14

Evansville North is the best team in Evansville this year. They probably are the most talented every year but their coach is an idiot. Their QB, Deon Pendelton (sp?), is very athletic and can make alot of plays with his feet. He has a very strong arm but can get a little wild. They have a big time play maker at WR in Brandon Stewart (#4). He also runs kicks. He has great speed and gives them a vertical game. Their RB is big and fast but didn't show much against Henderson. They have athletes all over the place much like OHS but probably better. I was very surprised when they lost like they did to Mater Dei.

The Mater Dei score is more reflective of the weather. That was the day after the rains, and Evansville got the worst of it. North's speed ment nothing and players fell all over the place, which includes their secondary falling after making cuts.

 

If you can contain the running game, you have to get pressure on their QB to win. Their coach is just bad enough to keep passing no matter how much he should keep it on the ground. If you watch any tapes at all, you can call the plays half the time.

 

They have big lines. This makes them different than most speed teams. Go look at the pics on that website when they played Henderson. However, their o-line is slow, and can be beat. Thats Apollo's best chance to stay in the game.

 

North might have a letdown after the last game. But I think your looking at a 20+ win for North.
