When you get down to it, the Floyd kid is a DB/WR who holds zero offers and was not good enough to help a bad team beat other really bad teams like Ryle (2 wins), Cooper (3 wins), and Lafayette (3 wins). If he's on Boone or not on Boone, he isn't going to be the make or break guy for them, just as he wasn't last year. Read the article. It's going to come down to one guy...Lamb. If Lamb is protected and can operate the offense, you'll see a totally different team. JMO.

A Weak 3A District? In 2013 South Warren lost in a heart breaker in the Regional Final. In 2012 Monroe lost in the State Semi's to State Champion Lou Central 13-18 That district has been anything but weak for the past two seasons...and word on the street is that this is the biggest Monroe team there has ever been and that the skill behind it is priming the Falcons for a two year run. I'm not popping the Greenwood'esque Optimism Pills that Doubletake is, but I am contesting your assertion.

I'm going to beg to differ here. In the last five games of the year, per the KHSAA stats, Eblen and Allen rushed the ball exactly the same number of carries...Eblen in that same stretch gained 218 more yards and scored 10 more TD's. You're going to replace an All State player EASILY with a player who made 57 tackles last year? I know he's a safety, but EASILY? If you're better at QB next year, I will buy you a steak dinner. If you have a LB better than Chaffin next year, I'll buy you two. Please also understand that I'm not saying SW is going to be awful, but it is not BG or WC. You don't just replace what they lost. We'll see a lot about them when they open with my Raiders. Both teams have a lot to prove.

I'm not against big schools, but I honestly like that I knew most everyone in my graduating class.

I'm gonna say no on this one...they lost pretty much all of their major producers. Gone are: Eblen who led them in Rushing, Passing, Scoring, and Interceptions...and the only one of those catagories where he was not by far the leader was Picks, where they lost the other leader (Chaffin) too. Wilken who led them in receiving and was 3rd on the team in tackles. Chaffin who lead them in tackles by over 50 tackles, and picks which he was tied with Eblen on. Iggy who signed DIA...those don't come along often. Middleton who signed SEC...those don't come along hardly at all. Gone is all of their leadership from the last three years of Varsity play. Leadership is even harder than talent to replace...and they lost a LOT of talented players. Gone is their veteran coach...and yes, I know the spawn of Chuck Smith is taking over, and he's shown himself to be a dang good coach so far, but you're talking a 1st year HC vs. a guy who had done it for a long time. That counts for something. I may be wrong, but I'm going to say that South is welcomed back to earth this year.

Also, the 1991 Paducah Tilghman team was stacked and got knocked out by the Purples in the playoffs.

The 1997 BGHS team...they opened the season against Hoptown who had Artose Pinner. Pinner played most of the first half and the game was close. Pinner went down and BG proceeded to blow Hoptown out. Hoptown then beat the Purples in the Regional Championship, mainly on the back of Pinner and would go on to lose the State Championship in controversial fashion. Of course, we all know what happened with Mr. Pinner and how he was ineligible. Had he not played, I believe that BG team wins 3A.

in the West of 4A, it has gone pretty much like this... - While Lone Oak was there, they were the road block you had to get by if you realistically wanted to get to the Finals. - Lou. Western seemed to me to the champion of the underdog Louisville schools as they have for the most part been in the mix every year despite not enjoying the advantages of the privates and the magnets. - A District 2 team is almost always a challenger, be it Allen Co., Franklin Simpson, or Warren East. I am dialing up my Raiders number this year based on the fact that they have so much coming back, 27 seniors, and the trump card that is Eli Brown. - It would be hard to not say that Owensboro has been a HUGE disappointment in 4A...one would think that they should own the West given their history, quality of coaching, and year-to-year talent. - The same could almost be said for Franklin Simpson. - Collins is the bad new dude on the block. It will be very interesting to see what they look like without two D1A players. - This is what I would call the last year for the "Wild West" as I have come to call it in reference to just how much parity there has been since the move to 6 classes...come next year, Warren Central and John Hardin move into town, and I am going to go ahead and say, we can probably predict the State Semi's at least 3 out of every 5 years (and yes, I know Collins will be in JH's region, and no, I don't think they'll be able to beat JH more than 2 out of every 5 years).

Warren East has 27 seniors, and the best player in Class 4A in Eli Brown. When East is up, they're a tough team to beat. I would have to put them ahead of Owensboro. I would also put Mad. North Hopkins ahead of Obro in the West. From the West, I say it's WE, MNH, or Collins. JMO.

Doesn't this also hurt and penalize the team they are scheduled to play. I would say ineligibility for the playoff for the season in which the infraction occurred would send a stronger message. ...of course, that penalizes the kid for a poor decision by the adult.

Actually, he has consistently lost to smaller, better conditioned Tilghman teams in the heat to start the season. In fact, the big knock against him in that game has always been his distaste for conditioning.

While I think this is a bit harsh in the way it is said, I do believe there is a lot of truth in it. I have read much about what a talent and impact player Floyd is, but he holds no real scholarship offers to argue in favor of his possession of next-level talent abilities as a player and was not able to raise the level of Boone last year by himself. He strikes me at best as a good high school player with a nice frame and some athletic upside. But on the flip side, he is also not a guy who is going to win games for you on his own; and no, most kids aren't going to win games on their own either but I am alluding to what seems to be a lauding of this type of description of his abilities (see the transfer thread about him). In short, I think the "devastating" effect on Boone Co. of his transfer and impactful effect on Cov Cath may be being a tad overstated.

Warren Co. is right around 100k...in 2015, the area schools will be classified as such: Gwood 5A BG 5A South Warren 4A Warren Central 4A Warren East 4A So it is not as though, it's a bunch of 1A and 3A schools scattered around. By the next realignment in 2019, I have little doubt that Gwood and South Warren will both be solidly 6A schools, and BG will likely be one of the biggest 5A schools. East continues to grow and Central continues to shrink.

For a player of such obvious respect from such a high end program as FTH, can anyone tell my why the kid has no offers right now? He is big, fast, and from watching his film, can clearly play. Not to mention the obvious many connections his dad must have in the college coaching ranks...what's the hold up?

Can I just reiterate what someone said earlier...Warren Central, once a huge public school in the late 80's and early 90's, has been split, not once, but TWICE by Greenwood and South Warren and is now a mid-sized school. In Warren Co. alone, Warren Central in terms of boys, is the 4th smallest of 5 schools. Just wanted to clear up any misconceptions that Warren Central is a "large" county school.

I think that Warren Central's new coach makes an interesting set of comments when he basically alludes to the premise that Warren Central should have better players than a place like Highlands and therefore shouldn't lose to them. Perhaps some background checking would have served him well. Shall we count the number of DI-A signed kids that the two schools have had in the last ten years? Central: 1, possibly 2 - Lonell Dewalt (2003)...Emit Smith may sign DI-A at the end of this year. Highlands: A lot more than 1 or 2, in fact, too many for me to recall them all. In fact, for all of Central's great players that he is counting on unleashing on Highlands, they are fourth in their own county for producing major College talent. Bowling Green, Warren East, and South Warren have all produced more high level talent than Warren Central in the last decade (or three years in South Warren's case). Highlands and all other area schools are no doubt shaking in their shoes over all the talented players that Coach Feggins is now going to unleash at Warren Central. There is also the matter of his son, who leaves Highlands to play at Dub C. Clearly a good player, but much like a lot of Warren Central players, he actually (per Rivals.com/Scout.com) holds no DI-A offers. Case in point, I'm gonna pick Highlands in this match-up. Highlands can easily match Warren Central player for player when it comes to quality high school level players, and then hold the trump card in that they normally have elite level players, something that for the most part Warren Central, does not.

Some good rules to remember when dealing with DI-A and DI-AA college coaches... 1. They are almost all lying...non-stop...constantly. They lie to coaches, kids, and each other. 2. Feel free to embellish when speaking with them...most of them unusually susceptible to being hoodwinked... 3. DON'T run a 40 for them...EVER...unless you KNOW you can clock-in well. A bad 40 will follow a player to the corners of the recruiting earth. When it comes to them wanting to know how fast you are, always, always, say, "just look at the film". 4. It just takes one...When it comes to offers, the first is the hardest. Get a solid first offer, and the dam is broken and the rest will come easily. Most college coaches are essentially like jealous school girls, once they see one person is dating you, they all seem to want to jump on the bandwagon. 5. Camps are really just ways for them to pay their GA's and low level assistants extra money...when it comes to camps, they know exactly who they want to see in person, and very few of the campers there are those kids. I should say this; camps are the most critical piece for borderline-offer guys. I know this is a VERY cynical post, but the college recruiting game is a nasty mother and you've got to treat it like such. For the 98% of kids who are not the 3-5 star guys, it's a real struggle.

It was the 2007 season that he did it in...I got a nice seat for the 38-35 state-semi game where the Flash beat my Raiders...Robinson was as good as I have ever seen.

Warren East would have loved to have seen George Fant stay... ...and Damien Fishback.... ...and the Carrier boys.... ...and Jeremy Britt.... ...and...well, you get the idea. Consider this; Had Fishback and Carrier stayed at Warren East, since 1995, Warren East would have had two Mr. Basketball's (Fishback/Carrier) and two Mr. Baseball's (Biggs/Green)...bit off topic, but I thought it was worth mentioning.
