LCC BY 6. GUARDS, GUARDS, GUARDS AND GUARDS. THEY CAN DEFEND THE 3 AND PCC ISN'T BIG ENOUGH TO OPEN THE 3 UP FOR THE COMMODORES. SHOULD BE A GREAT GAME.

I love Big Al but he inherited a pretty nice team and it's pretty easy to coach good high school talent. I like what was done at Cordia and what Hatcher has done as a coach against some pretty big odds and shoes to fill.

You are right about him being a Sophmore but you stated that there were no players capable of playing in the SEC. This kid is capable, has the tools, and will play D-1 providing something doesn't happen to jeopardize that. There aren't 2 or 3 kids in KY that are ready to play in the SEC right now, including Miller, Hopson and Mack. There is a difference in capable of playing and ready to play. You stated there are none that can play in the SEC and that is far from correct. I would say we have a least 2 play in the SEC in the next 2 or 3 years from the 14th and 15th.

Disagree! Josh Whitaker-Hazard can play in the SEC. Maybe not every school but there are some good fits for him and his abilities in the SEC. It as amazing to me that every year the so called basketball gurus say who can and can't play in certain areas but every year there is a kid or two that graduates from a D-1 school after playing and contributing to those D-1 schools.

I think LCC's guards make them tough against anybody, including Hazard. Breathitt really looked lost in that game.

LCC played well. Got hot early and never really looked back. Powell's kids played hard and kept in close (6 points at one point) but just couldn't overcome LCC's effort. I really think LCC or PCC can give Hazard all they want on Monday and Tuesday. Both are well coached and athletic.

Powell has to play well and contain all of KCC's weapons. KCC has several athletic young ladies that can light it up.

I like PCC because I think they handle the ball better and I look for PCC to press the entire night. PCC by 5.

We used to use the bleachers to help with our kids rounding the bag at second base. Running straight into the bleachers will make a young man think about running the bases and not just running the bases. Crossover step drills are always a way to mix conditioning and baserunning. It gets old but there are hundreds of drills to use. I think catchers and pitchers have more fundmental drills to use but just get creative because it's tough to keep it flowing inside. Kids get tired, coaches get aggravated and then practice becomes a burden.

Cordia wins! Cordia wins! Upset of the year in the mountains. May not happen but I sure like the odds and would rather be Cordia with no expectations than Hazard with the weight of the Dawgs.

I am all for him. I am sure he is a good kid and a decent basketball player but in order for him to ever play he needs to consider a small D-1 school or NAIA school. Doesn't shoot it well enough to play D-1 and at that level all guards Are 6'1" to 6' 6" inches tall which has given him a considerable advantage playing in the mountains that he won't have in college.

They don't get much nicer than PRP, Corbin, Lawrence Co. and Pikeville. Pulaski and Somerset also have nice facilities.

I agree that it is Hazard's to lose but in order to beat Hazard you have to have good guard play and I think Estill and Cordia both have that. It will be a hard row to hoe for Hazard. They could have gotten a much easier draw.

Pressing teams don't mormally perform when they are pressed. They don't get a chance to develop the defensive mindset when they are trapped and pressed on both ends.

Estill has what it takes at tourney time. Guards that take care of the basketball and they have 4 or 5 that play and take care of the ball. LCC has the same ability as well as Cordia. At tourney time all bets are off as to what happened earlier in the year. There will no 20 point wins in this tourney.
