Has anyone heard anything relating to the coaching vacancy at Greenup and, I am assuming here, the coaching vacancy at Rowan? (:confused:I don't know the status there.)

I heard rumor that they had already told Smith that he was getting the job at greenup.

Somehow I can't believe that, even though I hope it is true. Are any coaches retiring/quitting?

From what I saw of Greenup lst night they are much improved both as a team and individually. It seems the present coach has done a really good job. I was impressed.

You also can't undermine Coach Sutton's guidance and impact on that team, either. He is a fantastic young coach who should be considered a candidate for that job if Coach Smith doesn't already have it. Best of luck to both in this process.

Both would be fine choices in my opinion, but something tells me they won't fix the problems at GCHS anytime soon.

Amen to that Big Slick. I feel the situation can only get better at GCHS, but I give credit to Smith and Sutton for doing the best they could do with the mess that the program is in. From what I've heard I believe that Sutton is trying to find a way out and I'm sure Smith would love to have the job, but the way things are in GC you just never know. With a new Super coming in soon things could change or just stay the same, which in my opinion would be sad.

It was announced earlier this year that Bill Mike Runyon of Paintsville will retire at the end of this season and he is recommending Matt Ratliff be his replacement.

Oh we are in the same camp Big Slick. The problems at GCHS are numerous and will not be fixed anytime soon.

GC is in a mess. But they have potential and talent coming up through the ranks. Whoever gets this job, lets hope they make it a full season and I'd say in 2-3 years, GC will be a contender, not a favorite. They just need a leader for that program. Sad how the mighty have fallen.

 

Can we get Ward back? I'd love to see him and Zornes going at it again.

What are the numerous problems? GC will have every starter except 1 back next year and a really talented bench to go along with it. The biggest problem this year was that they were young. Next year should be much much better for the muskies.

What about Knott Co. Central?

Greenup Co. doesn,t need Ward back but it is obvious there needs to be some changes. Have some really good ones coming on-Tackett , Williams, Justice, Litchum

Ward comment was made tongue-in-cheek. It'd just be fun to have him back around sometimes.
