They are in GCL north

Campbell County 37 West Jessamine 6
Slowdown there ALLSTAR, lets win some of those games first. The defense looks like it is as good or better than last year and the offense is much better than last years with alot more depth and speed. You are right, it will be exciting with Ryle,Boone,Dixie and Conner all going to play at the Camels. They should have a great chance to at least make the playoffs. The toughest game may be when they have to travel to Simon Kenton. GO CAMELS

Unlike Highlands, The Camels had most of the starters out halfway through the 1st quarter.

Ashland Football
I don't know a whole lot about Ashland football, but watching that scrimmage I think the biggest thing they need to work on was the O-line. Hard to tell what the others could do when the defense was almost taking the hand off or chasing the QB for a 10 to 15 yard loss. I talked to one of the Camels DT's and he told me that is was easy to beat them off the snap. He had a couple tackles for loss and a sack, he said a couple times he got in barely being touched. It is early and these things can be fixed, maybe they were tired from that camp you guys are talking about. Good luck to Ashland.

Ashland Football
That would be John Snowball #4. That was a great catch. He dropped a couple easy balls then came up with that one. I seen a catch very similar to that one, made by a high school kid on espn. For those of you who are curious, while running backwards he reached around each side of the defender, who was facing him and caught the ball behind the defender and held on while both went to the ground. To add insult, the db was called for pass interference, face guarding. John plays mostly db. Most of the Camels starting wideouts were hurt and did not play.

Ashland Football
Don't know if Ashland struggled that bad or if the Camels are that good. The first strings, the Camels pretty much had their way on both sides of the ball scoring a couple times and moving the ball well, while holding Ashland to negative yards. Camels defense looks like it has picked up right where it left off last year as NKY best. Sauerbeck(mlb) looks very good. Ashland scored a couple times late with their JV when the Camels had several Frosh. on the field. They took 9 or 10 Freshman with them. All and all is was good to see some football again.

NKY JV and Freshmen Squads
Campbell has only been getting numbers in the twenties in recent years, so this is a huge increase.
-
NKY JV and Freshmen Squads
Campbell County has 55 kids after starting with about 60 on the Freshman team. A great mix of size and speed. Some very very quick running backs. They were fun to watch at the intra-squad scrimmage Sat. JV. should be pretty good also. Good to see over a hundred kids(together) on the practice field.

Campbell County Football
Things may have finally turned the corner for the better at Cambell County. They had 75 kids sign up for freshman football. Don't know how many will stick with it, but they recently have only been getting 30 to 35 sign up. The kids really seem to like coach Styer and his staff. They should make some noise this year and the future looks really bright.

Bourbon County 8 Bishop Brossart 3
I think it might be a high scoring game tonight, both teams can hit and it sounds like they are both at the bottom of their rotations.

Campbell Co. 11 Lloyd 0 ( 5 innings )
IMO Bourbon County was the best hitting team I have seen in the 10th so far this year, thier centerfielder killed the Camels with the bat. Don't know his name but his no. is 00. The Camels have yet to throw their no. 1 or 2 against them.

Harrison County and Scott High Rained Out
Cambell did not cancell that game at Cambell County. The field was dry and ready. Harrison did not want to come up.
-
Harrison County and Scott High Rained Out
I was wondering if anyone else noticed that. They canceld twice with Campbell County saying it was too wet, when everyone else played. The first of which was at the Camels, Harrison said it was supposed to rain so they didn't come up. It didn't rain until real late that night.

Best pitcher in the state?
Your right about the summer teams. I think Hurd is pitching for the Ky. Royals with Farris catching him. Should be some great match-ups if the Colonals and Royals meet, which I am sure they will. Will be fun to watch.

Best pitcher in the state?
After watching Beechwood play Campbell County Sat. I would say that Nathan and Travis Hurd are both better than Curly. He was hit very hard with nine hits and several line drive outs.Hurd threw harder and I know Nathan throws as hard as Hurd. Hurd struck out several Tigers including Curly, just had some bad luck which he has had all year. Since Travis nor Nathan play in the 9th region we can't win this argument.

Who has the best burgers at a High School Baseball game......
Gruber's burgers are pretty good. Was there for the Campbell game and a few of us had some burgers and we were all saying how good they were. Hat's off to the chef or grill master.

Scott 5 Campbell 0
No he isn't. He would be close but Travis Hurd would be. Scott got the Camels on a good day. Had to start two Sophomores at 1st and 2nd. and started the backup catcher at third. Hurd didn't play because of playing another game he pitched that night. 3rd baseman played left because of Joe Ball not feeling well. A few of the Camels have been under the weather all week. Not taking anything away from Scotts pitcher,he pitched well, Camels only had one hit.

Northern Kentucky 4A in 2006
Zack Rose, who ran the ball quite well until he broke his arm. Much bigger than Popp. Andy Franzen will get some carries,he is very quick.

10th Region Preview
Brett White returns also for his third year at shortstop for the Camels

Northern Kentucky 4A in 2006
After leading NKY in defense last year, the Camels will be right there again. They lose player of the year Matt Sauerbech but his younger brother, Brian will be just as good. He is bigger and faster than Matt. Look for him to be the best linebacker in NKY as a junior. The Camels return quite a bit from last years team that just missed the playoffs. I look for them to be much better next year with coach Styer there for a full year now.
