The tomcats are going to need to find some more players if their gonna run that much. It looks like they will go 7 deep and maybe 8 deep when Rose gets back but the lack of depth could hurt Ashland this year especially when players get in foul trouble.

I heard that the Tomcats held them scoreless in the 3rd quarter. I think that the offense will slowly get better, remember 3 of the starters just started basketball a few weeks ago.

So if the two teams are too not make the playoffs, do they still play the game.

I'm going to have to go with Russell in this one. I have seen both teams play and I feel that Russell is the better team between the two. Belfry has had a hard time holding on to the ball this season and Russell with take advantage on this. Russell 28 Belfry 13

If Ashland "trapped" these teams as you say, why didn't they drop out of the tournament before it started? And I know for fact that this was not the way these kids wanted to win this tournament, they were disappointed. They wanted to beat RH on the basketball court and they believed they could. But, we'll never know will we?

Those kids who cut down the nets after "winning" the AIT deserved that. They had prepared hard to play Rose Hill and were looking forward to the challenge. They were really disappointed they didn't get to play that game. RH forfeited at the last minute but you can't tell me they didn't realize this problem might be there earlier. Just another one of their tactics . Who knows what the outcome would have been? No one is unbeatable! Ashland kids were there and ready to play, Rose Hill wasn't...bottom line!

McDavid,Wilcox,Rose,Salyers(seniors) Thomas, Coleman,Fairchild(juniors) Bowling,Rowe,Plank,Bonner,Baldock(sophmores). I believe that will be the varsity roster this year.

That's what i was trying to get at. Of course McDavid, Wilcox, Thomas are great players with a lot of experience but behind them they're really lacking in talent and depth and it's never a good sign to see so much young talent quit this early and i dont think you can blame Biggs, he seems like a great person and a great coach.

Also, I believe that Cody Plank had decided to stay with the team this year.

I'm pretty sure that McDavid was out for most of the season. They found out he had this mid way through and he didnt play any games or practice for the rest of the season.

I have faith in coach Biggs and the Tomcats and I feel that they should be OK this season. He has alot of talent on this team and while the players that decided not to play may have made a difference, the Tomcats will still be a force to reckon with!

I know that McDavid and Burns had chose to not play before the season started so I wouldn't neccessarly call that quiting. Also, McDavid had an enlarged spleen so I doubt he would have been able to play anyway.

It appears like the same problem is plagueing the Ashland system again this year just like the Flynn era. I recieved word that sophmores Daniel McDavid, Stephen Burns, Blake McLeod. and possibly Cody Plank have quit the basketball team already to focus on football. All 4 were on the jv team as freshmen most of the season which was rare under the Flynn era. This comes after former basketball players juniors Steven Limpach and Drew Sutphin quit the team. I think that some believed former players Luke Bonner and Kevin Burns might come out this year and neither did. As of right now the JV and Varsity teams combined roster has 14-16 players on it. This cant be a good start to the Buddy Biggs era with all these solid young players quiting. I sure hope the tomcats dont suffer alot of injuries this year...
