The most important thing that Darrell needs to do over the offseason is grow up. On and off the Football field. Ian Holbrook will be extremely hard to replace, not just his athletism but his great decision making, I dont think Mahan is a mature enough player to replace Ian in that area. Im not saying Drew could make as good choices either but Drew has played in a Varsity game before, and that was Ironton, and I would trust Drew's decision making a lot more at this point in time. But if Mahan gets at it over the offseason then who knows what will happen, I may end up eating my words.

IronCat will be there supporting the Devils, and wearing maroon, but Im not sure it will say Russell..... But they have my full support!

This was a great group of seniors. They have made a huge impact on this program and will see its sucess in years to come!

If Im not mistaken the last team from either South or North Eastern Kentucky to win a State title in 3A was THE ASHALND TOMCATS in 1990.

I think that Ashland will be Ashland. This is a good class of athletes, and like its been said there are a few guys who have seen a lot of PT taking over. I look for this team to be just as strong if not stronger than this years Tomcats.

I think Drew will touch the ball every play next year. QB's can be BIG playmakers as well, see Ian Holbrook. I just suspect McDavid to fill Ians shoes.

I may end up being totally wrong but I really dont see Mahan starting next year. I think the team would be better with McDavid at QB and then filling a spot at reciever. You have to have someone to make a good choice before ANYONE can catch it. But next year is a long way off, who knows what will happen. I dont think Ive said this yet but Id like to thank all of the Tomcat Seniors for making this a great season. I know I would have liked for it to be a little longer but it was enjoyable all along.

RockCastle is a darn good football team, and I think they will be out for blood after how their district game went. Rock by 3 Touchdowns.

I agree, I dont think it matters what position you put Drew at your losing at the one that hes not at. However I think Coach Hart will have to play QB, and Ashland will just have to take their hits at reciever.

I agree, a lot of Ashlands roll out passes are by design. And Ashlands Offensive line HAS gotten lightyears better from the beginning of the year. We dont run between the tackles much, but with our recievers and our speed why should we? And if Im not mistaken I have seen tyler Reliford run for major gains right up the middle, but Tomcatsalute you keep under estimating us! Us Linemen are used to getting the bad end of the stick.

We've had some good weeks the last couple of games Graybeard. But I look for our big guys up front including myself to have a great game.

I think the Bell County-Madison Southern game will be a dandy!

I actually think Ashlands special teams are one of the weaker aspects to this team. Tony Love's Defense will win this football game. And Holbrook and Co. will follow up. I look for a low or no scoring effort on Rocks side and no more than a 20 point difference in this game. Rock is very good at stopping the run, its ashame thats not Ashland specialty! :thumb: ] Hobrook, Gurule, McDavid, Cannoy, and Bonner have a huge game, and become possibly the most feared recieving corp in the state!

And this explains Ashlands success when we started running in our plays how???

I wouldnt say the Tomcats got cheated in the Rockcastle game, they won! But I dont think it was right at all what took place, and I think its a shame when a team or a coach feels the need to do somthing like this to win a football game. Let the boys play football if you win you win if you loose you loose, but dont loose your class in the process.

I dont think you can look at Lawrence Counties problem without taking a glance at the coaching staff. For example( and I know coach Goldsmith took full credit for this but still ) You dont run a fake punt on your opposing teams 30 or 40 yard line, and you really dont do it when youve got Tony Loves Ashland defense on the other side of the ball. Just little things like that hurt the Bull Dawgs a lot this season. But other things hurt them as well, they are young, and Goldsmith is a great coach and I have a lot of respect for the man, and theres no doubt in my mind that Lawrence County will be back in the hunt in no time.

I would imagine he was. Me and IronHead go back a ways and I know he he feels towards those prestunsburg folk, but I cant say I disagree with him.

It really doesnt matter to me who wins, but I guess Id have to say that Im probably pulling for Madison Shouthern just for the fact that if they win and Ashland wins then Ashland gets to play at home for one more week. But I think it will be a close one. MS- 27 Bell- 14

Yeah you kinda steped in a snakes hole on that comment. Coach Hart is one of the classiest men I know. He pushes for good composure and good conduct whenever he gets the chance. Im not sure how you get that he doesnt have any class.

These Tomcats are becoming a major threat. On the ground watch out for Ian Holbrook to take it outside and run forever or Tyler Reliford to come busting up the middle. Take that away and you will see Angel Gurule's and Drew McDavid's numbers running in the endzone. The Cats are out to prove somthing, they are a couple of plays away from being 11-0 right now and I think they are just reaching their peak. The Cats roll with momentum into the Regional Championship for the third consecutive year except this year they leave happy.

Congrats to both teams on a great game. I have to say that I was pulling for Mason, just for the reason they are from our District but Congrats to Rock on the win. I look forward to seeing yall at Putnam Stadium Friday Night.

Reliford is a great Running back. He always tries to get that extra yard for the Tomcats.
