Did Holmes keep their starting lineup in the game until the end?

Pendleton County should move up, because they could beat many of the teams ranked above them!

This may look like a blow out, but I think given the two teams level of talent that SC made a nice showing. However, I didn't see the game, so it may be that Holmes took all of their starters out long before the game was over. If that is the case, then it may have just been a blowout. Anyway, nice showing for the Cards, on paper at the least!

Should be between Pendleton County and South Laurel. When they meet, assuming they do, the home court or at least home area advantage would have to be with South Laurel, but for some reason, I think that Pendleton County will win it!!

From CovCath to Pulaski, Ashland is not the same team! They should be more than ready come March to give Morgan, Boyd, Russell and Fairview all they want. Should be a good 16th Region tourney this year. But as to tomorrow, the Tomcats won't come close. They still need to keep improving! They aren't likely to hit 60% again. Pendleton County is a top notch team this year!! They will just be too much for the Tomcats IMO.

You never know who would be the best if the Sweet 16 were played right now. But I would think that the following would all be contenders: (1) Scott County (2) South Laurel (3) PRP (4) John Hardin (5) Pendleton Co. (6) Doss (7) Holmes (8) CovCath (9) ?????? (10) ??????

Yeah, but when they beat Ashland, the Tomcats weren't playing very talented!! They wouldn't beat Ashland by 50 right now and as the season goes, the margin would shrink!!

Good win for Pendleton County. Pendleton County is a very solid team this year and will certainly tell us how far this Ashland team has come! Pendleton County stomped Holmes, which of course has played Boyd recently. This should give us a little bit of comparison for whatever it may be worth.

IMPRESSIVE!! Looks like the Tomcats are finally getting their act together!! This should spice up the 16th some more. Especially once Russell comes around. AT41, Fairview might still beat the Tomcats, but I bet you are beginning to feel a little better about that tattoo!!

LC is a good team, but Paintsville (which is hardly playing well right now) led them the entire game on their own Court before blowing it at the end and then beat them at Paintsville! I think that Paintsville has proven that they are better than Lawrence County, even though LC can beat them on a given night. But that doesn't mean that Paintsville is ready to be the Regional Champs yet either! So lets get back on topic - this is a JBS thread!! However, sometimes responses must be made to provacative posts!!

At this point, NO footballfrenzy! Paintsville hasn't proven to me that they are the best in their district, let alone the region. I hope they do well, but they have a ways to go.

I haven't ever said they weren't a very solid club! And they may win the Region. Only time will tell. But just based on what they have done so far does not mean that they own the 15th Region. They haven't even played the best teams from the 15th Region. And beating Pikeville by 40 from what I have seen of Pikeville is not much different than beating David by 90. No offense meant toward those schools, but they are young and down this year! That is the only point I was making to doubledribble.

I'll say Morgan by at least 10 if West is playing good. Otherwise by 20.

JBS is a good team and could probably beat anyone on a very good night! BUT they are not a top 5 team in the 14th and they wouldn't be in the 15th either! In my opinion, that means that while they are good, they own no Region!

You could be right bigswan, but only time will answer that one. I'm sure there will be a lot of other teams that will have a different position than yours though.

It makes perfect sense doubledribble!! Beating 3 so so team from a Region does not mean a team owns that Region. If you can't make sense out of that statement, then no wonder you think that JBS owns the 15th!!

First, I don't mean to take anything away from the good team JBS has this year, which may be able to beat every team in the 15th on a given night. But . . . . . . . Second, there are more than 3 teams in the 15th Region. Third, Pikeville, Prestonsburg and Shelby Valley aren't even the top teams. So NO, JBS doesn't own the 15th any more than one of the top 15th Regeion teams that could take out several 14th Region teams! If you still believe this, then you know nothing about 15th Region basketball this year!!

I know that JBS is for real and can certainly win their fair share of games, but they do not own the 15th as doubledribble suggests. Losing to SV by 1 is not as impressive as it would have been last year!! In fact, SV isn't even favored to win the 15th this year! Neither is Prestonsburg, Sheldon Clark or Pikeville.

I would hardly call beating Pikeville, Sheldon Clark and Prestonsburg owning the 15th this year!! If JBS were in one of the tougher districts of the 15th, they would lose more than they would win.

I don't really have a problem with this poll at this time. But it assumes that Russell is better than Fairview and of course the remaining 12 teams, which may not actually be the case right now. It should be in the next few weeks, but I don't know about right now. I would suggest putting Fairview 3rd for now and Russell 5th or 6th until they get back to full strength. Except for #1 and #2 and #16, I expect this poll to change drastically over the next few weeks!!
