Good win for Pendleton County. Pendleton County is a very solid team this year and will certainly tell us how far this Ashland team has come! Pendleton County stomped Holmes, which of course has played Boyd recently. This should give us a little bit of comparison for whatever it may be worth.

Laurel Co. Tournament

Pendleton looked outstanding, especially from the perimeter. They're a top-10 team, and possibly top-five. This is not taking anything away from Pendleton, but I was told after the game that Miami Sr. was missing four different players because of injuries.

Also huge was Miami Sr's 6-9 post man Dwayne Collins, who was unstoppable down low in a 39-point, 7-rebound effort.

Isn't Miami Sr. the school where Allen Edwards went to high school?

Just got back from the game. The Cats looked outstanding, they jumped on Miami Senior early and did a great job of closing the game out. Big props to Jeff Gibson who came up with a big effort after Kane got into foul trouble in the first half. This Pendleton County team is so far exceeding everyones expectations but their own.

Yes it is. Allen Edwards was Florida's Mr. Basketball in 1994 and followed fellow Miami Senior High's Gimel Martinez to Kentucky to play for Ricky P.

Yes Allen Edwards went there, as did Douglas Edwards and many many other great players. They were the 6-A state champs last year in Florida with mostly underclassmen, but have been decimated by players going to private schools which happens way too often in our state. Edwin Rios one of the top juniors in the country went to Chaminade-Madonna, as did Jonathon Hall their 3rd best player last year a 6-7 wing player. Collins is a great player, and Carreno does a very good job coaching, but they are trying to regroup after losing all of those players late this summer.

University of Miami, Fl. commit, Dwayne Collins is a very impressive player. He had 39 tonight and made it look easy. He's about 6'7-6'8, but plays bigger because of his hops. All of his points came on great post moves completed by finger rolls. On play that stuck out to me was when he shot a bank shot and missed and then grabbed his own rebound in the air and finished with a monstrous dunk. Also, he shot and made a lot of free throws. Good touch for a big body.

Tyler Mains is a great floor leader. This is his 5th year of High School basketball and his 4th starting PG at the Varsity level. In the two games that I've saw him play this season, he was PC's leading scorer and ran the team like he was another coach out on the floor. He is a true point guard who can handle the ball good and can shoot well from the outside. He is starting to get looks from some small colleges. Good Luck to Tyler in the future!

Wow PC must be extremely strong this year. By the way they are playing teams in this area and teams from out of the area it looks like the 10th is pretty lopsided.
