letabrotherspeak
Austin Hill drops in 26 to lead Holmes. Didn't see Rice in box score, so I assume the ankle isn't quite ready. Holmes gets Pikeville tonight, in finals of the Pikeville tournament.
D IT UP
Nice outing for the cards against one of the top teams in our state. Was told this game was alot closer than the final.
Nothingbutnet
This may look like a blow out, but I think given the two teams level of talent that SC made a nice showing. However, I didn't see the game, so it may be that Holmes took all of their starters out long before the game was over. If that is the case, then it may have just been a blowout. Anyway, nice showing for the Cards, on paper at the least!
D IT UP
With the game at 46-40 Holmes, Sheldon Clark missed numerous easy baskets that would have put them ahead. I think this was during the 3rd period.
Nothingbutnet
Did Holmes keep their starting lineup in the game until the end?
doublej
Yes. SC was in the game until about 3 to 4 minutes to go. Started to foul. Holmes has a very nice team
Deimos
SC just didn't have enough left in them to keep up with Holmes. Stayed close most of the game, then Holmes just jumped out and didn't look back in the final minutes of the game.

letabrotherspeak
Holmes's Greg Rice and backup PG BJ Avery didn't make the trip to Pikeville due to injury. Two significant contributors for the Dogs...
NEERFAN
Rice alone is good for double digits against most opponents.

cshs81
Holmes's Greg Rice and backup PG BJ Avery didn't make the trip to Pikeville due to injury. Two significant contributors for the Dogs... They wouldn't still go on the trip?
cshs81
I see DJ had another all-around game for the Dogs. I think it was something like 17 pts, 11 assists, and quite a few boards.
letabrotherspeak
They wouldn't still go on the trip? Not sure... Maybe both had doctor visits to make for their injuries? Both were injured late Saturday night, so I think this is a plausible scenario considering they probably left fairly early on Monday for their two games last night and tonight.
