Last time I can see X played Tates Creek was in the the 1978 title game won by X 42-21. I don't think it will be that close next week.

In 2010 Cincy won 32-13... in 2009 Cincy won 24-7.

St. X won last year 7-3 but the Tigs have not scored an offensive touchdown against the Bombers since.....? I guess the 2009 game but I don't know that score.

The Battle For Second Place....

I'd like to see something with some tiger stripes... not like the Bengals, but in that ballpark. Plus, I wish one of the schools would wear a throwback uniform (in their game against Manual or Male) to honor the Flaget Braves!

Well, I will yield to your knowledge of the program, but it seems like I have seen several X stickers on the back of the helmets... more than just the district wins (2). And there have been no playoff games yet.

Lou X has tried to open the playbook. They had to to even think of having a chance to win state. This will be a test though with a bonafide defense across the line. So many times I have seen Lou X think big but clam up when crunch time came. They really have nothing to lose in this game... so go for it! Cincy St. X is a well coached team and if they HAVE to have the win then I think that gives them the decided edge. Say, 28-20 Bombers.

^ Just messing with you AT.... I do have a serious question about the Tiger helmets. I noticed "X"s on the back, like awards per game. I never knew St. X to do this.. when did that start and what do the players need to do to earn them? THX

I think Trinity can afford to hype it up some this week (and I hope they do) and get the win. In reality this is the best team team will see the rest of the year.

Trinity was a school (I'm not sure how many there were nation wide) chosen by adiddas to wear their new "tech fit" uniforms. I have no clue how much was given to the school.... or if the pink jerseys were a part of the deal. As to the all yellow unis ST. X dons on occasion, I think Chiquita sponsors those. :banana::banana::banana:

Pretty close score. Congrats Rocks on this good win. Central has it going... instead of laying down, refusing to play, crying about cheating, they have strapped on their helmets, worked hard and getting it done on the field. They deserve everything they are earning +. Quickly becomming the number one public school in the area.

The significance is that Highlands plays a team that will make them better and not waste time on inferior competition. The same question applies to all of Trinity's games (aside from the district games).

I don't read a lot into these recent games. In reality the past 3 have been the lowpoint of the schedule and while it was easier to pep up to play X, the guys needed somewhat of a break from the monster schedule and I can understand some letdown. They were still (with injuries and rotten officials) able to take care of business rather easily. True they need to sharpen the blade now for this final run as there is some confidence building and playbook expansion going on over on Poplar Level road. Hoping for a good game down the road a bit.

St. X has been using the forward pass and has put two fine games together since the beat down. Now both X and T have to get ready for higher caliber opponents after a lull in their schedules. I can't think of a better district runner up than St. X, that's for sure.
