An ugly win is still a win.

We didn't look real sharp tonight. Two weeks to get ready for Cincy. "GO ROCKS"

Rocks were not focused but the officiating was a travesty. The absolute worst i have seen. It was embarassing.

True what I heard? Trinity has more penalties yards than Male had total yards?

 

On radio they said minus-7 at half.

Reggie Bonofan got horse collared, no call. Travis Wright hit late several times. James Quick hit 5 yards out of bounds. No flags. If Trinity looked at a Male player they would get a flag. This crew was an embarassment. Beatty had to tell the kids to quit blocking after catches.

Now I believe the caller who called The Afternoon Underdogs show claiming to be a high school football ref who said that there were officials who would purposely stick it to Trinity and St. X.

Here's an example of how the officiating went. Trinity Ball 3rd and 21 at the -20. Quick catches a pass and runs by several people. A flag is thrown and the +40. Quick get to the +20, goes out of bounds and is horse collared down. Flag. Officials confer. Calls hold on Trinity, Horse Collar on Male penalties offset replay the down. Male actually benefited (and their sideline cheered) from being flagged. HOWEVER since the horse collar happened out of bounds it should have been a DEAD BALL personal foul for a late hit. The hold should have been stepped off from the spot of the foul which would have given Trinity a first down, then the dead ball foul should have been enforced. As I figure Trinity would have had the ball first down on the plus side of the field. The referee has been doing it for years and he's just not good I cringe whenever I see him. I really want to call him out by name but I don't know if that allowed.

 

Also I now remember why I really don't like Male or their fans. I've never seen a team that's getting thumped talk as much trash as they did. And their fans had the stones to complain about the officiating.

Male had 4 first downs and 80 total net yards for the game. I don't think they got a

first down until the 3rd quarter. With the pink jersey deal and it being senior night, T was not focused. On offense, they were very sloppy.....penalties, dropped passes, ill-advised runs, etc. Just a poor offensive performance----yet they still won. T's defense has been stingy in terms of not allowing big plays. Have the next weekoff. They need to get better.

I don't read a lot into these recent games. In reality the past 3 have been the lowpoint of the schedule and while it was easier to pep up to play X, the guys needed somewhat of a break from the monster schedule and I can understand some letdown. They were still (with injuries and rotten officials) able to take care of business rather easily. True they need to sharpen the blade now for this final run as there is some confidence building and playbook expansion going on over on Poplar Level road. Hoping for a good game down the road a bit.

Get better for who? Even assuming Trinity makes no improvement from here on out, who left on their schedule could possibly touch them? They will blow by Moeller and crush everyone in the playoffs.

They had 1 first down in the 1st half; but in pre-game quick was dropping passes on purpose running sloppy routes and not preparing mentally in terms of a champion. It perplexed me that he could do that in pre-game and come out mentally ready, i didnt think he would play too well. But they won so it doesn't matter.

Funny how no credit is given to the opponent and how hard they played against a team as good as T, but that's just how you private school people are on here. Will be interesting to see how your team looks next year...very interesting.

Yea because so many people like Trinity fans... will be interesting to see the excuses made by you people when things begin to change over the next couple years... that 28-10 beat down Thursday night sent a very loud message...
