Well the curse is over, this was the first game the panthers won that I attended this season.:ylsuper: Great game from start to finish. Gotta give it to seniors Josh White and Jeremy Hardymon, this was the best game I've seen them play since last years District Tournament. Chris Mofford was the savior tonight though, limited minutes, but he was in at the right time with a game saving block with 15 seconds remaining. Poor judgement on Chris Owens though with that shot. Tie game plenty of time on the clock, it just seemed rushed. Owens is a very good player, but the final minute of the game he and the Saints just fell apart. Nick Anderson played a great game finding the basket whenever the Saints needed a big one. Augusta's defense played well giving Owens all kinds of different looks, 2-3 zone and a box and 1 for most of the night, even thought I saw a triangle and 2 that caused a turnover with seconds remaining. The officiating in the first half was down right pathetic on both sides, the worst that I've seen in a postseason game. The 2nd half was pretty solid though, bad calls had no effect on the outcome of the game though to make that clear.

Are talking about the one with 15 seconds left that was CLEANLY blocked by Chris Mofford?

How many teams have played Mason competitively from the region over the past 5 years? Very few. It is more about money than anything. Can't say I blame them.

Without Miller, Mason is an average team. Thats how good this kid is, he makes those other guys around him so much better. Bracken has some weapons. Jesse Hall is one of the best PG's in the region. And they have a solid inside game with Hamilton and Cooper. But they have noone that can score or defend on the perimeter. Miller and Setty will have field days. If Bracken can keep the pace at a near standstill then they can keep it close. Royals win 79-43.

And its comments like that, that make the entire County of Bracken(BCHS and AHS), look bad. Its no wonder most people from outside the County think that we have no knowlege of the game

No doubt. If its such a problem for Mason to go to StPat and Augusta(st pat is understandable that gym is way to small. Augusta's would be fine trust me.) Play the Augusta game @ Bracken Co. and the St. Pat game Downtown in the Maysville gym.

They met in the District Tourney in 2002. But other than postseason play, the two Varsity teams have not played since the Mid '90's in the MCIT.

This may be the hardest game to pick of any 10th Region District 1st round game. The Saints have won all three meetings this season. They won at home 72-55. They won at Augusta 66-63, and they won on a neutral court at Bracken Co. 72-67. Augusta has only given up 70+ points 5 times this season. 2 of those games went to overtime in which they were 1-1. But 2 of those 5 games in which they gave up 70+ were against the Saints. Its hard to beat a team four times in one season. But St. Patrick still has something to prove after losing to the Panthers in last seasons District Tournament, so you can throw what has happened so far this season out the window. Both teams will be focusing on this one game and this game only. If the Saints are able to put a lot of points on the board again then it will be difficult for the Panthers to prevail, they don't have that go to guy like St. Patrick does, but what they do have is a couple guys who can step up on any given night. For Augusta to win this game it will take a complete team effort, anything less and Coach Hinson will go to his first Region birth.

Should be an interesting 11th Region Tourney. Let the madness begin.
