The officiating was terrible against Brossart but they did not get screwed. They had many opportunities to get back in the game early but they just couldn't execute. The Royals gave them a ton of chances.

Rough night from the Field for the Panthers, they had the looks just couldn't knock down the shots tonight. I thought they followed their gameplan the best they could have they just couldn't hit the shots to keep it close. GRC was simply on fire from behind the arc, they have some nice shooters. Preston Knowles is one of the quickest players I've ever seen. Yeah I was a bit suprised with the turnout tonight.

This gave game was over after the Royals led 2-0. Middleton was hot tonight. What's with the 6'7" kid for Montgomery. Not only is he tall, he's got muscle, and he's left handed. He doesn't look like he has any heart, he could have made an impact.

True, but the big money is made on Saturday. Which it makes sense for split session for seating and financhial reasons. A lot of people go to both Semifinal games. Only a small portion go to both 1st round games even when it is single session. Maybe I'm wrong about this because I don't know how much they made during last years 1st round games compared to years when it was a single session. If someone has this information could they tell us? I'm just curious to see.

It would make it a lot easier for the schools and fans as well trying to get there at 5pm. When it was one session I was still able to get my seat front row on the visitors side near midcourt while only getting their a half hour early:ylsuper:

There is no need for these first round games to be 2 sessions. It was never that hard to get a ticket or a seat when the 1st round was 1 session a few a years ago. The semis, 2 sessions is needed. Not the first round.

Interesting. Right now I don't see him as a D1 player. NAIA yes, possibly D2.

These two teams haven't met since the '03 and '04 seasons, and those games were closer than what some may expect, both games in Winchester. GRC won 59-56 in '03, and 90-72 in '04. But that was 3 years ago, new blood on each squad now. If Augusta plays the way they did last week in the District Finals then this game will be just as ugly as that. This is the most athletic team the Panthers have faced all season. To keep this game close or respectable, Augusta must not just play hard, everyone is playing hard its the regionals. They must execute their game plan to perfection. They must shoot a near perfect percentage from the free throw line, hit open shots, make crisp passes, hit solid screens and stay very patient in the half court. And thats just on offense. The real key to compete in this game though is going to be getting back on defense and getting in position quickly on both ends. If the Panthers allow themselves to be overwhelmed in the Full court then this will get ugly as quickly as Preston Knowles gets from foul line to foul line. Tough task eh? I will go as far as saying that I believe this game will be a little more competitive as most think, or at least not as bad as their last game. This team is far more focused and ready to prove that they are not 50 points worse then someone.

Josh White is an excellent floor general, knows the game well, could use a little more work on his shot and speed. Hardymon with some more muscle and maybe some more confidence and he could be a very good small college ball player.

He better put on some weight then.

Its been almost a week since this game has been played, Lets move on.

They were content with what they had accomplised three night previous. Mason should have won by 30 yes. But if the boys would have came to play then it would have been 30, not a ridiculously embarrasing 54. But no I don't believe the Royals "ran" up the score in this one, Augusta had their chances to keep it respectable to some account.

Juniors that see very very little time on varsity, on a team that is not deep at all, are going to make that big of an improvement to their senior year? Ants work hard, but they still get stepped on.

7-23 from the free throw line certainly doesn't help your cause. Your right Pride they had their chances to keep it a little respectable.

I tend to disagree. Summer games back when I played. We beat Deming by 20. A week later we lost to Deming by 7. The next day we beat them by 40. The same players played in all games. If Scott goes into this game thinking HC can't be 30 points better than they were the last time then Scott will go home early WRITE IT DOWN. With that said though the Eagles win this one 73-59. Unless they have the same attitude you have.

I don't know about being the most lop-sided. You have two A schools playing the two Favorites for the finals.

They most likely won't score more than 60. But from personal experience, if you try to push them and run, they can blow you out as easliy as any other up tempo team can. They don't usually run, but they can.

Just about. If it was seeded the only difference would have been maybe Mason-Deming, Brossart-Montgomery. And with Brossart and Clark on the same side.
