Does the All-A tourney have a snow plan in place? I don't know the amount of snow forcasted for Richmond--I was just curious. I remember a few years ago they pushed the games back a day ( I think). Anybody have any info?

Cubster's 16th Regional Poll 1/28/07
scorekeeper replied to Nets's topic in KY Boys Basketball (High School)
I believe the 17 point lead would have been in the first quarter...early in the first at that. Also, didn't the same thing happen last year in the championship game at Morehead?? Russell played man that game. Both school have nearly the same teams as last year...and that was a completely a neutral court. I don't see a 9+ point spread ever. If I am wrong, then I'll eat crow. I hope "duck" is the same way. I believe that Elliott takes the next game (at Russell) by 4. Russell gets a lead and then squanders it later in game--only this time, they can't fix it. -

Elliott Co. 92 Greenup Co. 63
scorekeeper replied to Wireman's topic in KY Boys Basketball (High School)
Something strikes me as funny. If I remember correctly, Elliott held a 13 point half-time lead. It seems some posters keep mentioning that it was "about a 10 point game in the second half." Again, if I am not mistaken, Elliott held a 19 point lead at the end of the 3rd quarter. If it was "about a ten point game," then it was somewhere early in the 3rd. Elliott never lead by less than 10 at any point in the second half. In my determination, it was about a 29 point game when it ended..ha. Also, the game was rough. Elliott plays aggressively, but not with malice. Greenup plays dirty. Holding uniforms (Last year Ethan Faulkner's uniform was literally shreaded during the Greenup game), very hard fouls, and those elbows. I am not at all impressed with GC coaching, styles, or attitudes. I was very disappointed with them. -
Elliott vs Fairview Cancelled
scorekeeper replied to ky hoopster's topic in KY Boys Basketball (High School)
I bet the game was rescheduled so the Elliott staff can watch the All-A 15th region tourney. I don't think that Fairview is afraid to play Elliott again, but I am sure they are not wanting a repeat score. -

I wondered why RH dropped Elliott. They used to play the first game of teh season. -
Elliott co may be the team to beat

I have to believe that Elliott is the most fun to watch. Here's hoping for a trip to Rupp! -
Elliott Co 66 Raceland 42
scorekeeper replied to Armchair Coach's topic in KY Boys Basketball (High School)
I thought the fans were both well behaved. Raceland's clapping as Elliott's starters are pulled--Elliott's did the same. As far as the officials go, it's very subjective. Subjective on their part, and even more so on ours--I didn't like all the calls, but neither did Raceland's crowd. No one could convince me that either official was bias. I make mistakes when doing my job--as do they when doing theirs. -

I am glad that the Carter County Station carries Elliott when possible. Since Sandy Hook has no radio station, it isn't often that the elderly of the county can hear the play by play. "Thanks GORADIO for being involved!" -
Suspended Coach Jim Hicks suspended again
scorekeeper replied to zippidiedoda's topic in KY Boys Basketball (High School)
Is this an extension of the previous suspension, or an entirely different one? Has G.C. not completed the investigation, or are there new allegations? -

Whoa! Didn't see that one coming. Not looking fwd to the rematch of Elliott and Raceland. Raceland plays very rough at home. It's a hard place to win. -
Elliott and South Charleston, WV
scorekeeper replied to scorekeeper's topic in KY Boys Basketball (High School)
I didn't learn much about the So. Charleston team from this thread. I have to assume that is because little is known about them. That's fine...I just wish peple could say "I don't know." The family tree stuff is great though--if I were only interested. -

I believe the estimates were a little more than 2,000 from Elliott last year watched the Regional Finals--with Russell around 1,200. It's been a time since that game....but I THINK I am correct. I think Elliott fans travel well. -
Does anybody know anything about So. Charleton? I know they played closely (relatively speaking) with Huntington H.S. What are thier weapons?

The Eastern Kentucky Conference. Good..my source was less than reliable, so I was hoping that he was wrong.

I heard a rumor the other day that several school will be leaving the EKC next season. Anybody have any more info on which schools are considering the pull-out? What ratonale are they giving?

Elliott Co. 50 Boyd Co. 46
scorekeeper replied to lionfan13's topic in KY Boys Basketball (High School)
I guess that's a good way to look at it. THe "no-calls" did go both ways in the game....Can't say that there was any lopsided officiating. -

I didn't pick out any particular play. I found nothing wrong with the time-out....BUT the "walks" I refer to didn't just "look funny." They were legitimate walks. A Boyd player held the ball to his hip and took a sold step. Two Elliott players stopped dribbling--but didn't stop moving--in the final minute of the game. I understand that officiating is an ambigious profession--I just really hate to see the fundamental elements of the game (walks, double dribbles, carrying the ball, 3 seconds in the paint) all ignored. -

Don't think I agree that Boyd "gift wrapped" it for Ellliott. After all, Elliott had the lead most the game (with the exception of the 3rd quarter). I was impressed with both school...HOWEVER, do officials simply not call "walks" anymore? In my opinion both teams got away with multiple travels???? -
Elliott vs. West 12/8/06

West is much better than I thought they would be..I still think an Elliott win > 20 though....I am glad that Coach W. has his team working hard though! -
Best student section in 16th region
scorekeeper replied to ECFAN's topic in KY Boys Basketball (High School)
The East Carter pep section utilizes modern equipment in thier cheering. A dry erase board is used to relay messages to onlookers. Just a little note for you guys.....You can't read a dry erase board from the back of a classroom let alone in a gym....inside the gym it looks like you are holding up a 2 x3 white poster board with nothing on it. It makes it look like you all can't afford a giant sharpie...or can't write??? Get one of the SUPER dry erase markers...it would be better. -
