So what you are saying is that it should be 1 gets bye 2 v 5 3 v 4 But in that scenario 1 would get a bye to the championship, while 2 and 3 would have to play two games to get there- which means a harder road for the 2 and 3 (because they have to use more pitchers) In this scenario 1 v (4 v 5 winner) 2 v 3 There is no bye, only a harder road for the teams that didn't get it done in the regular season

I could be wrong but isn't it a judgment call by the Umpire. The batter has to attempt to get out of the way, but if it isn't possible (or if the batter doesn't have time), then the Ump can allow the batter to first.

It will- CovCath is known in part for their tremendous school spirit, and the middle-school kids are dying to be a part of the student section- they would want to wear the CCH on their jersey ASAP.

I'd hazard a guess at like 10%. But I have no idea. But I'd say about 1 out of every 10 lives in Boone County. Now for how many of those actually debate between Catholic and Public schools, I have no idea.

And in addition to the players mentioned, there are tons of other great players in the last couple classes and upcoming classes- guys like Revere, Farris, Maile, and more, and I'm hardly familiar with a lot of baseball in this state.. Baseball in Kentucky seems to really be on the rise

One thing that hurts CovCath is the presence of Beechwood, because Beechwood is a program that year in and year out competes for a state title, but they also allow certain players the opportunity to play much earlier than they would at CovCath. LN, as for your theory, that is a good point. Who knows if a kid like Josh Blesser would have attended CovCath if not for playing with all the future Colonels on Raiders (he could have been anyways, I don't know). But what is going to happen to the Raiders and Spartans if this thing really takes off? Because I have a sibling in 6th grade who played Raiders last year who would absolutely LOVE to have Covington Catholic on his jersey. And especially due to the fact that he is going to be a 1st year Senior for the Raiders (which means his playing time will be minimal), I wouldn't be surprised to see him switch over. Also, I will be influencing him and all of his buddies to go play for CovCath :lol: Furthermore, Trinity and X have the high tuition and rigorous academic schedule that Covington Catholic has, so if we can model what we do after them we will be in great shape. But as mentioned, this can only do wonders for CovCath, no way it can hurt.

I agree, this could be huge, in time. I heard about this a few days ago, a bit strange how the idea got started (from what I heard) but it can only help. I wonder the effect that it will have on the Raiders and Spartans.

It seems that CovCath is playing as good of ball right now as any CovCath team over the past couple of years has.

How many complete games is this in a row for CovCath? Or am I mistaken?

Agreed. But if I were a coach, and Maile came out with 1 or 2 outs and no one on base, I'd consider walking him.

He is very polite and humble nowadays, a big transformation from a few years ago :lol: I like to say that I helped straighten him out. I am very glad to see him pitching so well!

I believe that he has been hitting leadoff so that pitchers can't walk him. Has brought his RBI total down, but probably gets him more pitches to hit.
