  1. Huffman goes the first 4, and then retires after the rain delay. Griffin Hall pitched the last three in relief.
  2. Would like to mention that Weston Robinson broke the all-time scoring record at Pikeville HS with 132! He is also just 8 stolen bases shy of the single season record for steals.
  3. Who? Pikeville? Hazard?
  4. In the two games I have seen them play, it didnt appear to be the coachng staff...The coach tried to light several fires under his players, just simply never succeeding. I talked to a player who said the coaching was 20x better this year, he simply left it at "Its just us, being us."
  5. He's still good, he's our ace...Whether he's pitching or not...I don't know. Pikeville beat Curley two years ago, in this very same game. Not meaning anything by that, just saying...This IS a very different Pikeville team. They are young, and inexperienced, but saying Beechwood can come out and throw their four against us, would be a stretch. They are tough, and play hard, and they want to win! I was mainly talking to MTNFAN, nky...
  6. Pretty big statement MTNFAN...:irked: Pikeville has some wins over some good teams and good pitchers. I think saying Beechwood can just walk over them is a big mistake. Not to mention all fields are equal when Chase Huffman steps on the mound. We like being the underdog...Makes winning even better.
  7. Congratulations Beechwood...See you Saturday!
  8. Would like to mention that Justin Anderson's single gave him hit number 135 for his career. This makes him the all-time hit leader at PHS. Het got two more hits today for 137!
  9. This game was crazy! VanHoose started for the Tigers, Carter for the Panthers...After 5 innings of play, the score was 7-0 Panthers. VanHoose was out of the game, and Carter had given up one hit, and no runs. Carter got runners on base in the 6th, giving up two runs, and was taken out of the game. Boyd came on in relief and gave up three. Then Anderson gave up the lead for a 9-7 deficit. They lost 10-7. Crazy game!

  11. Panthers truly played like a team this weekend...Picked up three good wins to take the Panther Classic! A very good tournament with tough competition! Congrats Panthers! Keep up the team ball!
  12. Nice work, InTheGame. Thanks for that information.
  13. Great game! Pitching was good on both sides, and overall the only thing to be said is good game! Congrats Panthers on a tough, gritty win!
  14. HAHA...Just playing, FB...I know that noggin of yours is full of useless baseball knowledge!
  15. Agreed...lol...Maybe yours FB?
  16. I see...Well Lawrence has a great coach and always tends to puul it together. Good luck and work hard!
  17. How are they doing? Haven't heard a single word about them...Record? Stats? Any info. would be appreciated.
  18. Just a little update...It is looking bad in Pikeville...Thundering like crazy!
  19. Meaningless? It gives smaller schools a chance to play on a large scale, very competitive level...It is by no means meaningless!
  20. Jut threw very well last night! He had all his "junk" working and threw 6 innings allowing only 1 run! Hazard was pretty solid, nice win Panthers! :dancingpa:
  21. Congrats JB! Behind you all the way!
  22. In this game it was errors for Pikeville...No more than 3 or 4 hits, but Pikeville struggled defensively! Carter struggled at the start of the 1st, giving up 2 runs, I think, but after that ended the inning with 4 straight K's. He didnt struggle after the first. He had 9 strikeouts in the 4 innings he threw. Mayo came in to pitch in the top of the 5th, srtuggled at first and then threw very well! I think he ended up with 4 strikeouts or so in the 3 innings he pitched. Josh Chafin and Weston Robinson blasted off offensively, as well as others.
