KingoftheMnts Posted April 3, 2006 Posted April 3, 2006 Johnson Central beats Betsy Layne 6-0 on a combined no-hitter from Justin Blanton who threw the first 5 innings and followed up by Mike Conley the last two innings. Blanton also went 3 for 4 from the plate.
Belfry Wins Posted April 3, 2006 Posted April 3, 2006 Congrats. Im excited to see them come to Belfry and play here soon. Blanton is a good ball player.
DOGFATHER Posted April 3, 2006 Posted April 3, 2006 Congrats to Justin. Imo he is the best pitcher in the region this year. Super athlete who works hard at his game, I'm glad to see the hard work is paying off.
STRIKE3 Posted April 3, 2006 Posted April 3, 2006 Congratulations to Justin and the Eagles. An outstanding young man and family.
KYFEDUMP Posted April 5, 2006 Posted April 5, 2006 No doubt about it....Justin is a very good pitcher. However, IMO, he's a year away. Still does not hit spots consistently. The best I've seen so far this year has been Chapman of Belfry. Hits the target, good mix of pitches, live fastball, keeps the ball down, knows when to waste one. He'll be big trouble for ANYONE, if he's on.... :flame:

Fastball was flat and very marginal off speed pitches.

KYFEDUMP Posted April 5, 2006 Posted April 5, 2006 I guess you missed the IMO qualifier (which, for the uneducated, means In My Opinion). I have never claimed to be the definitive authority on judging talent (unlike others on the board). I also stated "so far", meaning the season's still young and I've not seen a lot of different teams yet. PS...Just an observation, but you seem to be extremely sensitive whenever an umpire's opinion is offered. Just a thought, but you might want to leave your personality conflicts (and attacks) at the door and contribute to the discussion constructively. :argue: I don't mind someone disagreeing with me, but with your attitude, it's hard for anyone to take you seriously.
