coach2709 Posted March 31, 2006 Posted March 31, 2006 Sloppy game both ways. Pikeville pulled away in the end. Mackenzie Carter started for the Panthers pitching the first 4 and John Mayo finished the final 3. Carter struggled with the strike zone, but threw the ball hard and finished with alot of strikeouts. The Panthers hit the ball well pounding out 17 hits and only committed one error. Pikeville travels to Perry Central on Saturday.
hacyco Posted April 1, 2006 Posted April 1, 2006 I"ve noticed that Betsy Layne has scored well aganist all of their opponents this year. Whats their problem pitching, defense or both.
BaseballFan13 Posted April 3, 2006 Posted April 3, 2006 In this game it was errors for Pikeville...No more than 3 or 4 hits, but Pikeville struggled defensively! Carter struggled at the start of the 1st, giving up 2 runs, I think, but after that ended the inning with 4 straight K's. He didnt struggle after the first. He had 9 strikeouts in the 4 innings he threw. Mayo came in to pitch in the top of the 5th, srtuggled at first and then threw very well! I think he ended up with 4 strikeouts or so in the 3 innings he pitched. Josh Chafin and Weston Robinson blasted off offensively, as well as others.
