Pineville 55 Harlan 52
I was at this game. Pineville has a good team. But you have to remember Harlan plays good defence. I may be wrong but I don't believe Harlan shot a free throw the second half. Without Smith Harlan played a good game. But Pineville can shoot the ball well. Congrads to Pineville. They are having a good season. Glad to see this because I like their coach.

13th Region District Pairings:
If Bell beats Cumberland Tuesday it will look like this 1 Bell County Bye Middlesboro Cumberland 2 Cawood Bye 3 Harlan 6 Evarts If Cumberland beats Bell. Cumberland and Harlan have the same record. Not sure on how they handle that. Coin/Points not sure. Maybe HDE can help.

Miller to visit Louisville
I have seen Miller play around 5 games this year. I have seen him hit some very difficult shots. In my opinion I think he is better than Vance or Mills. People always want to give him down the road about playing defense. When Middlesboro played at Harlan he made it difficult for Smith to score from Harlan when they were matched up one on one. I am not sure he will get an offer for his school to be payed for, but why pass up on a PURE shooter. Look at Lofton not a lot of big teams really wanted him and look what he has done at the next level. Kentucky could sure use a shooter.

SOME GOOD WINS
I can't see Cumberland over Harlan a very good win. Harlan is 2-10 since smiths injury.

What if Clay and South for region?
When did South start playing their best ball last year? South by 15 to 20

Pineville 100 Middlesboro 75
Was at this game. Pineville had their way inside. Day probably had 40 or more. Midddlesboro probably shot 40 3's. One shot each time down the floor and Pineville had the ball back. Pineville has a nice team, can play with the rest of the 13th besides South.

Brossart 62 Barbourville 29
I agree with you. The 13th is a weak region at this point if you take out South. And from what I've seen I don't see it getting strong anytime soon.

Corbin @ Cumberland predictions?
Corbin 68 Cumberland 52

Cawood 52 Harlan 49
This was a good game. Free throws was the differents. Cawood made theirs and Harlan missed alot.

13th Region "Top Players" by Class
You would have to put John Smith and the Curtis kid from Harlan in with the Juniors I would think. And Watkins from Cawood in the Seniors.

Mountain Top 10 1-27-06
Looks like 13th stronger than I thought. Four out of the 10 from 13th.

Top 5 Players: 13th Region
Smith from Harlan Has to be in there. He's hurt but not dead!
-
North Laurel 83 Middlesboro 78
Not this again. I have seen all three play and this is my take. Proffit-by far the best overall point guard in the region easy. No questions asked. Allen-The quickest PG in the region. Stewart-The better shooter. All of these players have different components that make them good. Proffit just has more of them.

Cawood 57 Harlan 50
Good win for Cawood. Looks like they will win the district again. I was at this game and neither team looked like they really wanted the game that bad. Harlan is going to be lucky to win many games with the turnovers they have each game. They probably had 25 last night and didn't shoot the ball that well. Like the Leslie game they had 22 turnovers but they shot about 60% from the field.

WYMT Mountain Classic Championship Game
A great defensive performance by Harlan helped them get hear. Give credit where it is due, but I will take Leslie by 9. Harlan has been hit by the injury bug(Smith out for season,Brown missed 3 games before playing a game before WYMT, Curtis missed a game to get 9 stitches) and has done well without their best player not playing. No one gave them a chance to be in the finals.

Clay Co. 69 Powell Co. 66
I for one thought at the beginning of the year there may be a couple of teams make a run at SL. NL, Harlan, Clay, and Barbourville being the main four, but after seeing all of these teams play at least two times some three, there is no way that any of these teams have a chance. That is just the way it is. SL is too big, too deep, too quick. They are very good and well coached. I just do not see anyone in the 13th beating them.

Harlan 38 Paintsville 37
Stats very close just like the game. HDE had Harlan I believe with 17 turnovers.
-
Clay Co. 69 Powell Co. 66
It's not a big deal to beat Harlan. They are rated 8th or 9th in the region. So I believe Clay is ranked higher so they should have won. I'm not making any excuses I'm just saying that Clay is not that tough. But everything will be said In March.

Clay Co. 69 Powell Co. 66
The win at Harlan isn't saying a whole lot because Harlan's 6'7 center went out in the first 2 minutes of the game with a cut that took 9 stitches. He's been averaging like 12 point and 10 to 12 rebounds a game the last 4 or 5 games. That was a huge lost. And the 6'4 Brown kid fouled out early in the fourth.

Harlan 38 Paintsville 37
I talked to a friend that was at the game and he knows alot about basketball, says Paintsville defence was so so and that Harlan didn't slow the game down as much as people are saying. Alot of times they threw the ball away after only one or two passes. They had 17 turnovers and put up forty some shots. He said that Harlan didn't let Paintsville have alot of layups and that was the different in the game. He said that they made Paintsville shoot jumpers. Anyone at the game see it different?

Any News on Scores from the WYMT
Anyone know any scores?

WYMT Mountain Classic Pairings
Without the Smith kid Paintsville shouldn't have a problem getting to the finals, that would be like the Slone kid from Paintsville not playing and the Smith Kid from Harlan playing. Harlan would have a easy time getting to the finals also.

Clay County 59 Harlan 57
From the information I can find out at this point I am pretty sure it was a torn achilles(sp). I am not sure when the surgery will be done. They might have had it done today.

Clay County 59 Harlan 57
Clay wins a close game. Outrebounds Harlan by at least 25. Harlan was hurt from the get go when the Dragons center Curtis left the game with about 7:00 to play in the first quarter. He is a big part of their team this year. I found out it was Smiths achilles(sp). He had hurt it the game against Evarts. Doesn't look good for him. Clay played hard and Harlan did also, Harlan just couldn't rebound the basketball. They had a couple of open 3's to win the game, but just came up short. Good win for Clay.

Clay @ Harlan Predictions
Never heard of hustling too much. If Harlan does that tonight and the Brown kid gets to play should be close. If not, Clay by 12.
