51513 Posted January 6, 2006 Posted January 6, 2006 This was a great game. Glad to see the Tigers pull one out. Good job guys and keep it up.
ballaholic Posted January 6, 2006 Posted January 6, 2006 Clay wins a close game. Outrebounds Harlan by at least 25. Harlan was hurt from the get go when the Dragons center Curtis left the game with about 7:00 to play in the first quarter. He is a big part of their team this year. I found out it was Smiths achilles(sp). He had hurt it the game against Evarts. Doesn't look good for him. Clay played hard and Harlan did also, Harlan just couldn't rebound the basketball. They had a couple of open 3's to win the game, but just came up short. Good win for Clay.
HDE Posted January 6, 2006 Posted January 6, 2006 Clay owned a 45-25 advantage on the boards. It's amazing, with that stat, that Harlan had two chances to win with 3-pointers in the last minute.

SKINPIG Posted January 6, 2006 Posted January 6, 2006 Clay only wins by two, with that rebounding advantage. Looks bad down the road for the Tigers. I think Clay missed their last 5 foul shots, maybe 7 of their last 10. The game should not have been that close. Coach Gray and staff had an excellent plan for Smith & Clem. Will Jones did a good job defensively on Clem, especially in the second half. Smith kept Harlan close at the foul line (he lived on the line tonight). Clay's defensive effort was their best of the year. I don't know what the shooting % was for Clay but it had to be low. If Clay can go to Harlan, shoot that bad and come out with a win it looks bad down the road for somebody other than Clay. Funny thing to me Augustus, most people labled this a big game for both teams, Clay wins and you say it "looks bad for Clay". Clay won (not lost) by two!
SKINPIG Posted January 6, 2006 Posted January 6, 2006 Outside of SL, the 13th is wide open. (#2) Wouldn't the 13th region tourney be a great one if South waited one more year to come in?
Mator23 Posted January 6, 2006 Posted January 6, 2006 Good victory for Clay. Should be a 20 win season for Clay.
The Defender Posted January 6, 2006 Posted January 6, 2006 Like I said before Corbin, Clay, Harlan, Bell, and Cawood are all about the same @ this point.
ukbellco14 Posted January 6, 2006 Posted January 6, 2006 Like I said before Corbin, Clay, Harlan, Bell, and Cawood are all about the same @ this point. Nice win for Clay! I would have to agree with the above statement. SL is head and shoulders above everyone else. NL is MAYBE, and thats a big MAYBE, just a tad bit better then the aforementioned teams! If SL wasnt in this region it would be a heckuva tourney, and by that I mean a close one! It would be somewhat lacking in all around great basketball though, which is why SL comes in and dominates. Oh well, next year will be much more entertaining, although SL will still be stacked and the clear favorite. Curious to see who ends up 2nd, 3rd, and 4th!

Clay shot 13-24 on FT's and Harlan was 17-25 with Smith hitting on 10-13 for Harlan. Clay Co. hit on 2-7 three point attempts and Harlan only made 2-15.

Heard anything on Smith's injury?
