Thanks to each of for the kindness, compassionate and understanding words for the hurt that Paige, Katelynd and the Lady Rams have felt over the last few days. It has helped them (and me) tremendously.

As a parent of seniors whose H.S. basketball careers just ended, I can say that looking back it has been a wonderful experience and taught mine many life lessons, one of which is self-discipline ((i.e. scheduling homework around practice). This alone will help them with life at Transy.

YES. Many girls at smalle schools have wonderful 2 sport careers.

GoRadio, I also think the Lady Rams tired out at the end. Some things are just not meant to be. Congrats to East on a hard fought win and good luck on down the stretch. Trimble and staff are top notch. This season has been thrilling. Thank you for being so dedicated to our team. Easterling pulled Paige aside immediately after the game to talk to her. It was such a kind gesture. He is a class act. Just before the bus left, one of Lady Raiders came and hugged Paige and Katelynd both. It was just so sweet. To all of you in BGP land, thanks so much for all your support of the Lady Rams over this season. It has been so much fun chatting with each of you, debating with some, and meeting others. To my girls: Wow, what a great adventure the past 4 years have been. Your dad and I have watched you grow as individuals and leaders, defining your roles on and off the basketball court. Your dedication to the sport and to your team is to be admired. You both have matured into fine young ladies who we are so very proud of. You have learned to handle the good times, and the bad, with class and dignity. You have grown by learning all the lessons we as parents hope that athletics will instill in you. Thank you both for all you have given to us and for allowing us to share this experience with you. Your futures are bright and full of promise. Lady Rams, this team has been awesome. Be proud of your accomplishments and records this season. Hold them and each other close to your heart.

what a great post shooter. Sometimes we don't tell the ones we love the most exactly how much they mean to us and how much we appreciate them. Print this off for Jon, place it in his scrapbook, and I can guarantee you he'll read it over and over and over. Each time it will become more and more dear to his heart. Jon, keep your spirits high and focus on rehab. You are young and have a wonderful future still ahead of you.

The Raceland player, Peyton Martin, made 2 of 3. Acutally it was a bonus free throw and he missed the first. Then he sunk the two technical free throws. I hope I am stating that correctly. Someone please correct me if I am wrong.

I didn't say it did or didn't happen. Just wanted to know how you could have heard it. I am certain he isn't a mouthy kid. the story I heard was that Blair was taunting a Raceland player in front of the Ram Student section and the Raceland student section went crazy. That is when the T was called. ofcourse that is second hand but from a reliable source. It was a tough rivalry game and a close one at that. Congrats on the win and good luck Thursday night, Devils! But don't take Lewis County lightly. It was a very physical game last night against GC.

Any word on the Lewis County player that was hurt just as the 1st half ended? He was laying on his stomach and surrounded by adults. The atmosphere there was great. The gym was probably 90% packed. The bands were battling back and forth. The GC cheerleaders looked awesome, as usual. This game was also one of the most brutally physical games I've ever seen.

Wow, you must have been awfully close to the floor to hear what Blair said. Closer than the ref? Hoping and saying it over the air are entirely different. could that loyal Russell announcer be the same one that was so loyally wearing royal blue a few years ago? hmm.......

I still EXPECT professionalism whether the announcer is trained in that capacity or not. They are still adults and should refrain from the derogatory comments they make as if they are casual fans in the stands. It is not just Russell fans listening to those broadcasts, and if for no other reason, the comments should reflect positively on the school system they represent, not just the team they are rooting for. On another note, one Raceland Lady Ram held the door open for Jon Vanhoose as he exited the gym after the game on crutches. She said he was a great guy, a great player and she wishes him only the best results after his dr's. visit tomorrow. Not to thread jack, but at halftime last night during the GC/LC game, a LC player was on the floor with an injury. Does anyone have a report/update on his condition?

Ofcourse they didn't WANT Raceland to make those free throws. Expecting professionalism from any adult isn't unrealistic.

I also heard it was a possible concussion, not a knee injury. Hope all is well with Tyler.

I bet the Russell radio announcers don't agree with you on that! When Austin Blair was called for a foul and a technical, one announcer said, "I hope they (Raceland) misses all four of them" so immature, unprofessional, and unsportmanlike. If I owned KISS 107 I'd make sure they knew better next game. Ofcourse we all know who one of the announcers is.

Sounds like Raceland defense is holding Russell pretty well. Only 6 field goals in the second half.

I wasn't able to attend due to an eye injury; hoping I'll be able to go Thursday for the finals. I thought I could rely on the radio, but obviously I was mistaken.

Same announcer also said he 'hoped Raceland missed all four freethrows' when a foul and technical foul both were called on Russell's Austin Blair. I know it is a Russell radio broadcast, but shouldn't sportsmanship apply everywhere? They said Vanhoose heard a "pop" which isn't a good sign. Hope this isn't serious. Russell will not be the same team without him. any news on Boyles?
