I wondered why Billtown did not play more of the box and one later in the game. It was fairly effective the first quarter.

No, it was not particularly a physical game. He did get a cut, blood on the jersey, and became ill at the half. He had 18 the first half.

PC goes 13-8 after a hard fought win at home against HC. Numerous PC players stepped up in the absence of Dennie(concussion), Allen for the second half(sickness), and Neltner ( down in the last half with leg injury).

I believe that is a problem for one of the tenth region schools. Their defense does not want to "draw" the charge.

A combination of both. Ryle took it to the basket(only 6 three point attempts). PC was looking more for the threes. Most of Ryle's free throws were in the last quarter when PC had to foul.

Oh my! eleven rebounds is correct . Another big factor is Ryle hit 22 of 28 from the free throw line while PC only had 10 attempts.

PC had a two point lead at the half after a grind it out kind of game for both teams. The first four minutes of the third quarter set the tone for the second half and Pc found itself down by as many as fifteen. To their credit they fought in the last quarter to reduce the margin to five at one point, but with Ryle in the double bonus and hitting a high percentage PC could not dig out of the hole they made for themselves with costly turnovers and poor shooting. Give Ryle credit as well for their box and one defense which was effective the entire game. PC will definitely need to make some adjustments as they are likely to see this defense much more in the future.

My favorite team is flying under the radar right now which is fine. They typically start playing their best ball this time of year. While they do have six losses, only one was by double digits and one was in overtime. It could also be argued that they have only one quality win, but they are currently on a six game winning streak and have a chance to prove themselves against the upper echelon of the region in coming weeks. I truly believe they will do so. Go Pendleton County Wildcats! Sorry to sabotage the thread Paris and Bracken fans, but it sort of veered in the direction of evaluating possible contenders.

Reasoning? That's what made them curious. The second came late into the game when the outcome was decided. a foul was called on Antrobus and from what I was told one of the PC assistants simply raised his hands vertically showing the player what he should have done and the official apparently thought this constituted an objection to the call. If so, it was certainly a mild objection. The first was given to Coach Belcher when in his enthusiasm he pointed to the midcourt line for what he believed to be the over and back violation. Admittedly he was a bit demonstrative but was in the coach's box and never addressed the official verbally. Those who know Belcher know that he is not one to rant on officials. Just a very quick and imo an uncalled for whistle.

Adkins led Grant in scoring with 23. Allen and Dennie led PC with 30 and 25 . Walsh added 13, Antrobus 10, Yelton and Sullivan with 6 each, and Neltner with 5.

There was no prediction thread on this game but I had some concern. The Cats did get off to somewhat slow start offensively but righted the ship for a 47-30 lead at the half. the game was never in any doubt the second half. Mason Dennie had a wonderful game. Dontaie Allen was Dontaie Allen. Adam Antrobus was a monster on the boards. Walsh had his shooting stroke going the second half. Hall, Yelton, Sullivan, and Neltner also contributed. Since their win against East Jessamine without Allen this team has run off seven victories. Confidence is high and they are playing hungry. Good luck to the Braves the rest of the year! On another note, those two technical on PC coaches were the most curious I have ever seen. Is this typical of 8th region officials?

Actually according to points allowed per game they are third in the district. Interestingly Robertson is first giving up 58.1. Pendleton gives up 59.5, Nicholas-65.6, and Harrison-68.

PC led 45-30 at the half and held FC to 19 points in the second half. Dontaie Allen had his second career double double with 34 points,15 rebounds, and 10 assists. Dennie and Sullivan had 10 points each and Yelton had 9. PC shot 51.6% from the field. Pc improves its record to 10-6 and has Grant County at Dry Ridge on Friday.
