A parent's job is to be positive and supportive without causing unnecessary distractions. If they can do that, the can go where they please... I will admit, too many parents in a gym can get distracting...

Funny thing is, poor kid almost didn't play because of his dad. The coaches literally had to talk Dale into starting him. He didn't want it to seem that he's only the starting running back because of his dad. He was good...

Correct me if I'm wrong LN but isn't it because they don't want personal statistics affecting the focus of their defense? HHS plays assignment football as good as anyone and I believe this is why. There aren't very many selfish players.

Those guys wouldn't sniff the field today...

When it comes to HHS football, this is the case ONLY with there weight and locker facilities. Which, obviously is not just a football issue. Everything else in the football program is top of the line... Needless to say, I don't understand that logic.

I think you, and others, are taking the easy way out with this question. Of course you want to play. However, I want to know where I stand. I want to play at the highest level. I want to know that I am the best, on the best team. If I'm not the best I want to challenge whomever is in front of me to make them the best, and if they respond I will get PT. I admire the heck out of Matt Cassell. He could've transferred, but he didn't. He pushed the heck out of Carson Palmer and they both reaped the benefits. (Well, besides the fact that Carson is with the Bengals) That type of person will go a lot further in all aspects of life. Apparently we were both wrong interpreting doubledeuce's comments but we're on the same page.

Ah, my fault. I agree. This is a tough question because I don't anyone that's ever played a sport that doesn't want to go in the game, so obviously playing time is important. I'm taking the question as if you have the ability to play at school A but not school B, even though school B is a contender. Some are saying they'd pick school A every time.

This is wrong on so many levels. I'm glad you're not coaching my kids and making them feel irrelevant if they aren't playing.

So ability has nothing to do with it? Why else wouldn't you play on a state championship team? It's a natural assumption when asked this question that someone is better than you, which is why you're not playing. Transfer? Who said anything about that? Graduating and playing with teammates and friends? Addendums are necessary with such a vague question. So transferring to get a ring would be selfish but stating that it's all about your playing time is not? The difference, you say you gave up a chance to PLAY on a championship team and did not. As you've told me, the question is if you did NOT play.
