This is something you learn in basic training when you join the military. You can pick the vets out in the stands. They are the ones with their hands over their hearts or they salute. I personally along with my family put my hand over my heart.

(b) Conduct During Playing.— During a rendition of the national anthem— (1) when the flag is displayed— (A) individuals in uniform should give the military salute at the first note of the anthem and maintain that position until the last note; (B) members of the Armed Forces and veterans who are present but not in uniform may render the military salute in the manner provided for individuals in uniform; and © all other persons present should face the flag and stand at attention with their right hand over the heart, and men not in uniform, if applicable, should remove their headdress with their right hand and hold it at the left shoulder, the hand being over the heart; and (2) when the flag is not displayed, all present should face toward the music and act in the same manner they would if the flag were displayed. I agree.. This is a no brainer. It's the law.. We although have a tendency in this country to pick and choose which laws we want to obey. Here's one: It's the law that at sporting events during the national anthem you must put your right hand over your heart and stand at attention. Those dressed in uniform must salute the flag. I have noticed at the Russell football games the announcer tells everyone to place there right hand over there heart. This is the law that most people just don't know about.

Russell defense is also allowing on average less that 150 yards total offense per game. Now keeping Raceland under that 150 yards will be hard. The Russell defense must perform tonight to win this game.

I think if Russell can hang onto the football and not turn the ball over they have a very good chance of winning. Russell is very healthy right now. We just might see Conley carry the ball 20 times tonight. I have not seen Raceland play this year but I'm sure they will be very good on both sides of the ball.

I would agree.. Raceland is just the best team around here year end and year out. They are very special in eastern Kentucky.

I would agree with you. The Rams always play a tougher schedule than Russell. This is what makes the Rams so much better than Russell. I don't think Russell has beaten the Rams in a long while. Tougher schedules must be the key.

What would give you the impression that Russell would have a lot of way over confident Red devils. I have not seen anything to indicate that.

I hope the Rams can come back a play a very good game against Russell. Russell and Raceland both need to have a good hard fought game getting ready for the playoffs.

I personally don't know. All I can tell you is what two Russell Coachs told me and the and a high ranking member of the Russell staff who would know. They may be wrong and your right. I can't argue the point.

Just confirmed. Russell is the #1 seed. Thanks to Ironton's win last night Russell has home field advantage for the playoffs. I would although like to see Russell beat Raceland. I think we will see Russell spending more time on the passing game.

I'm fairly sure that with Ironton winning last night that the Raceland game will have no effect on the seeding. At least that is what two of the Russell coaches told me last night.

So your saying Jacob Smith is faster than Baker. Baker ran a 4.29 in the 40. I doubt that there is anyone in this state that can match that. There are very few college teams that have one guy that can run that fast.

I for one would much rather see the head coach submit a highlight real to a committee of voters from all areas of the state. The watch each players highlight video that is not longer than ten minutes, talk about it and then have sealed voting. This is a very important award and I hate to see a kid left of just because he lives in an area of the state that has very few voters.

I personally don't like any yelling at the refs. They are out there doing the best they can. Refs make mistakes and I for one feel that the mistakes even out over the course of the year. I did although see a ref make a mistake in a state title game that cost my team a state championship. The play was on a forth and goal play. The Quarterback was clearly stopped short of the goal line and the line judge clearly raised his right a and spots the ball short. The quarterback makes another effort to score and the ball is knocked out of his hands and one of his linemen recovers the ball in the end zone. Touchdown.. The only problem is the ref acted line he never spotted the ball when you can clearly see he did spot it short on film. I could not believe that he did not tell the Referee that he blew the play dead and spotted the ball. I had heard that the crew was suspended for the first game of the next season but cannot confirm that. Now that worth yelling about. 2006 Russell against Merger County

I think this race to Bowling Green is a lot closer than most thought at first.

The big problem with Baker is there are not very many voters on this end of the state. He may be the best player and I think he is but getting the votes are another thing.

A lot of these so called botched calls are fans just not knowing the rules. I have to chuckle to myself when a ref makes a call and fans who don't know the rules start yelling at the refs. I for one feel the refs do a great job. Refs do make mistakes. We see it every week at the college and professional level with calls being reversed after the replay.
