Jones threw the ball down the field to Bailey and the defender just tipped it. Great defensive play on his part. No tip Russell wins. Congratulations Bobcats.

I just have a feeling that Louisville Central is the Ft Campbell of 2005. They cannot be beat by a 3-A team as was touted regarding Ft Campbell. Russellville Wins in O/T

I think you guys will score several TD's against Belfry. I also think you will see their starting D the entire game. I don't think you will win although. If you do beat Belfry, Russell or Breathitt should be no problem. I do believe at this time Belfry is the best team in 3-A. Now that could change.

I know what you are talking about. Just when you think you are rolling smooth through the competition. Opps you see something you don't know what to do with. Then it's the fourth quarter and you don't have enough time to make that come back. Belfry could loose this game. Then we could all get rides on the space shuttle. Good luck to both teams.

Totally understand. Breathitt may be very good in all aspects of the game. Russell is also very good. I do have a gut feeling Russell is a little more physical than Breathitt. Prediction: One player that we don't talk much about is John Cornwell the nose guard. John has has been playing very well lately. I see John having a big game and going home with a smile on his face after he sacks the QB twice in key situations. Jones will have a career night on both sides of the ball. The Running backs? Who knows? They are all very good and love contact. Breathitt can't key on all of them. Russell's defense. Morris will have them ready for this one. He is one of the best defensive minds in High School Football. Look for Russell to make some big stops on third down. Turnovers. HUH I don't think you can decide an underdog after the game starts. If Breathitt controls the line of scrimmage in the game the underdog switches from Breathitt to Russell. Huh. Maybe the under dog can change during the game. I don't think the Devils will ever be a true under dog any time they play at home. Even when we played a 6-A team this year we were not really the under dog. Now if we played some one like Trinity or any other top private school we would be the under dog.

Central has been right up there the whole year. I can't wait to see them run into Belfry, Breathitt, or Russell. Just because you have a tough schedule and you loose those tough games should not be justification to rank you number one. Right now today Belfry would beat Central by three TD's. Central is way over rated in my opinion. They did not impress me at all when they played Johnson Central. Look what Belfry did to Johnson Central. Oh well, I guess that is why we play the games.

Russell might be the underdog and thats okay. Russell is usually the underdog anytime they play Belfry, Breathitt, Owensborough Cath., Mercer/Harrodsburg. I think Russell was the underdog when we played Mason County. It might have to do with points scored in the regular season. You will rarely see Russell score in the 50's. Where the other teams mentioned do it more often. Russell likes to play ball control and "keep away". It works. At least it did in 2005.

Good to see Russell is the underdog. They play better as the underdog.

Boy Howdy. That was one of the most exciting games I have seen. Keep in mind one of the reasons Haddix had a bad first half was he had Number 1 from Russell in his backfield chasing him. I have no idea why we went into a prevent defense that night and stopped Number 1 from chasing him. It is was it is. A great come back by the Bobcats. Luck. If you are not lucky along the way it is not going to happen. We look forward to hosting this big game. I'm sure the young men will put on a great show for all of us to remember.

I remember that drive from Russell to Jackson in 2002. It was absolutely horrible two lanes all the way. It seemed to take forever. Yes and it was a lot worse on the way back after loosing in overtime.

I have noticed that the crowd size has been very small. I myself can't figure why the fans are staying away. At first I thought it was the new playoff system but after the Mason county game I'm not convinced. It might be the cold weather. I can tell you one thing Jeepman will be there and will be bringing the whole family to cheer for the Red Devils. :dancingpa

It may stink. What you are doing by pointing at Greenup County also stinks. These boys from Greenup are playing their hearts out with what they have. To belittle them is down right wrong. If you want to point fingers point toward the KHSAA. Congratulations to the Greenup team for making our community proud.

I did not realize that Breathitt has won the past four times the teams have met. I would say that is an accomplishment. Time to stop that streak.

The Russell line play has been great. I'm not sure what Russell games you have been watching. Just wondering. How many games have you watched?

I won't disagree with you. One thing Russell does have in our favor is Coach Morris. He is one of the great defensive minds in High School football. He can take a bunch of average kids and make them into a team that plays well. I think the russell game play will be very similar to the game plan we played against O Catholic in the 2005 championship game. No we don't have the expertise we had then but they will manage. If Russell plays their cards right and a few breaks we should control the ball and have if about 2/3s of the time. If we don't then it's Basketball. Win or loose you will see the best that Russell has. I personally think we will win this game. I think Russell will control the ball and play better on defense. I do think we will see some changes on the defensive side of the ball come friday night to stop the air attack. It will sure be nice to have this game a Russell.
