JOB Updates
If I'm not mistaken, the thread I saw this week was an old one from last year. Not sure but that is the only thing I've seen lately.

JOB Updates
I've heard Massie has the Bo Co job as well. Does anyone have any news from West Jessamine? What about North Oldham?

JOB Updates
Rick Massie? He is a graduate of Bo Co; played at UK under Claiborne, played Canadian ball and finished his career with the Broncos. He was an assistant at Paris for a few years and may have helped Bo Co one year. Not sure.

JOB Updates
I believe that Bo Co was small and young. They are like many schools that are not that successful in that the kids won't go to lift. From what a few of the coaches have said is that they will be small again BUT they see one class (I'm not sure if they are the 8th graders, freshmen, ??) as being the team to get them on the right path again.

JOB Updates
Whoa! That one caught me by surprise. I thought Coach Foley was set in Frankfort and was only looking at Bo Co because he played there. Good Luck Coach!! West would get a good one with Craig. Good list of applicants.

QB Camps
Ditto!! Excellent Coach, Great Man, and at one time was a fairly good QB (I think) lol Coach B knows what it takes when it comes to QB's. Highly recommend this camp. Trying to send a few there my self.

JOB Updates
I heard the same. I know Craig would do a great job where ever he goes but I do not understand why he would leave Frankfort for the Bo Co job. I realize he graduated from there and starting his coaching career there but still. I've always heard you can never go home. Although I don't truly believe that, I will say it would be very difficult to go home. (back to your alma mater) Within a few years he would be coaching kids of the players he played with. That would be hard to do. I wish him the best where ever he is next season. He is one class act and man of great character.

Doug Preston to Louisville Western?
Marvin Moore is the new super. He and Gary go back a long way. I think if it were offered, he would take it.

Doug Preston to Louisville Western?
I've heard Gary McDowell and Kevin Brown as possibilities. Should draw a great deal of interest given their situation. What district will they be in 2007?

How will Coach Letton do in his first year?
I do not believe he was ever fired from Prestonsburg. The one thing that Prestonsburg and Lexington Catholic has (and has a lot of) that Montgomery does not have is support. At Montgomery County, it seems the parents want to run the program, the administration could care less, and the players listen to their parents instead of the coaches. Coach Rains did a great job there under the conditions and so did Coach Letton given the situation. Montgomery County has not had a great program since the merger around 1970. Mt. Sterling had a great program. I believe Coach Letton will do a great job and wish him the best.

Bill Letton will be the new LexCath football coach!
Congrats to Bill and best wishes to him and the Lex Cath program. He is a tremendous person, a man of great character and outstanding knowledge. He works hard and believes in the pyramid 1) Faith 2) Family 3) Education 4) Football 5) Social/ etc. Again, Best of luck Coach.......Congratulations.
-
If Coach Sphire leaves LexCath who will be the new Knight Coach?
Coach Letton was head coach at Prestonsburg, Paris and Montgomery Co before moving to Lex Cath. He is an outstanding person and a very knowledgable coach. He would do a great job there.

Bracken County Needs Coach?
If you read the original post, I stated that I am not taking anything away from Dudley. I like the man and respect him. He does a tremendous job. Also, I stated the rebuilding started with the staff I mentioned. They did not completely turn the program around but made HUGE Steps in the right direction. Therefore, It is my belief that one without the other would not have happened as quickly as it did. The steps the staff with Gruniesen, Foley, Dahlstrom, Bellinger, Davis (Mercer Co) ,etc. did nothing but give a solid foundation for anyone following that staff. Could anyone that took over have been as successful as Dudley? I don't know but I will say if I would have been a betting man I would have to put my money on Dudley. Would a Chuck Smith, David Buchanan, etc. have had the same success? Probably. Dudley is an excellent coach and I respect him alot. It may have taken 3 years compared to 1 to win the state. I simply meant the staff mentioned took a school that had never made it to the playoffs in school history and that began the building process. Dudley continued it and built upon it.

Bracken County Needs Coach?
I stated this on another thread but believe it needs to be said again. Dudley is a very good coach. He does a tremendous job and always seems to win. I am not trying to take anything away from Dudley since I do like the man and respect him, however, he did not turn Bourbon County around. The turnaround started under the direction of Roger Gruniesen with a staff that included Wes Tipton, Aaron Dahlstrom, Criag Foley and Mark Willoughby. That was the turn around with the first ever playoff appearance in school history with a team that was not full of talented kids but full of determined kids. The Freshmen that probably were Srs. the year Dudley came were undeafeated in Fresh & JV to my knowledge. (This info coming from the coaches on that staff) Dudley still had to organize, prepare, and create the chemistry that championship team had but he was not the sole reason for Bo Co's success. Still respect and love him but believe that he is credited way too much for that.

Bracken County Needs Coach?
Yes it's open. It is posted on the KDE website. Not sure what thjey are looking for since I believe the last coach was a para-professional so they may not have any teaching positions open.

West Jessamine Football Job??
I have not seen this advertised. Are they accepting applications right now? Any names of the people that have applied? What about Randy Woods-former assistant, now at Morgan Co? Will he return?

Who is in the running for Bryan Station??
That was my understanding as well. I thought maybe he decided he wanted it.

Who is in the running for Bryan Station??
I have heard he is a great guy and was on the staff there with Nochta I believe. I am not 100% sure on this but I did hear he was football oriented and had great knowledge of the game. If someone could verify that he was there under Nochta I would appreciate it. Thanks

Prater Retires at Lewis County
Corky is a great man and coach. I thought he retired a few years back and then when they could find no one that wanted the job they convinced him to return. Maybe they will do the same again. If not I wish him the best of luck at whatever he decides to do. Coach........Great job!! You will be missed on the sidelines

Bourbon County ?
As I understand it, just from what people that were close to the program during Chuke's reign, he did not allow freshmen to come out. Did not schedule Freshmen games. If this was true he was cutting his own throat and the programs as well. Can anyone verify this? I hope it was not true because you lose a lot of interest and the program suffers for years.
