I believe Aaron Dalhstrom resigned due to "family reasons."

He was 0-20 in his two years, but the record doesn't speak to his overall coaching ability. I thought Aaron did a good job while as coach, and his coaching was far from the main reason why they didn't win a game in his 2 seasons.

Hopefully Bourbon can bring in someone as classy as Dalhstrom, he's a good man, and I wish him all the best in the future. Just a flat out quality guy.

There has been a lot of funny stuff going around central office at Bourbon Co. lately, hopefully this was really his decision, and he wasn't forced out by a higher power.

Would Dudley be willing to come back and fix the problem ?

He went back to Bell County from Bourbon County maybe he may re-change his mind. He may be the only person who can help Bourbon.

I think Coach Dahlstrom had quite a bit of pressure to resign. He was getting heat from several directions. I agree, he is a good coach and fine man. The fact is that Bourbon just hasn't had the talent to be competitive the past two years. I truly don't believe was the coach, plus two years isn't enough time to put it all back together. The program he inherited was in shambles, he came into a situation with hardly any equipment and so forth. I wish him and feel that he will land on his feet somewhere and be successful.

Very doubtful. Bourbon needs a "slam dunk" hire like that, but I doubt it happens...

This isn't a very popular move by anyone I know, and the last thing the program needed. It's really a complete mockery of what it was 10 years ago, and Dalhstrom is way down the list on people to blame.

This program was destroyed about 5 years ago when they hired coach Williams. Coach Hilton had the program rolling along and then he left and some outside people in power threw their 2 cents in. And here we are 0-23 :fire:

Dudley is a fine coach but let's not forget that the turn around started before he got there.(And Dahlstrom was a part of that as well as the championship team) Either you loved him or hayed him but the fact is Roger Gruniesen started the turn around at Bourbon County. A school that had NEVER made the playoffs bexame a playoff team. Once looked at as a "gimme" game by a lot of schools suddenly became a team others had to prepare for and knew they would be in a dog fight whether Bo Co won or lost. Don't het me wrong, I am not taking anything away from Coach Hilton because he is an excellent coach and proven winner; but so was Gruniesen. Coach Dahlstrom is a good coach and a great person. I wish him the best in whatever he decides to do. Any school that TRULY wants a program would be lucky to get Coach Dahlstrom. Coach Dahlstrom...good luck and best wishes.

How soon do they plan to start the hiring process?

I heard the middle school coach-Ballard, I think, was in the running. Any truth??

About the hiring process......

They wont wait long. When they had their basketball opening last summer, it took them a little over a week to find their guy (Daniel Brown.)

It probably wont take long, but this hire will determine if Bourbon regains any kind of respectibility in the near future.

That will be a departure from the way the process was run when they hired coach Dahlstrom. They might have known right away who they wanted, but the hiring process was pretty slow.

How are the facilities there? Is the support there for the coaches?

I really hope the best for Bourbon Co... they have had a long streak of tough years, it'd be great to see a motivated and competative coach take the reigns.

They have a new fieldhouse that is about 5 years old, the facilities aren't the problem, the lack of getting playing out has been a major concern (can be attributed last Chuke Williams year of 2003). They dressed 15 players for senior night that year, and 13 were Seniors.

How many kids do they have come out now? Do they not have quality feeder programs?
