Bourbon County ?

Featured Replies

I agree completely. That is exactly what I was referring to. The school system must show that they are serious about making things right. This would be a "risky" situation for an established head coach, and as hard as it is to get head coach opportunities, a young or aspiring head coach would have to be careful with it as well.

I heard from a very good source that Bourbon got out of the game with Scott Co. and picked up Rockcastle. You talk about from the pot into the fire. Rockcastle will have one of the best and most PHYSICAL teams that they have ever had next year, If not the best. Bourbon may not have enough to finish the year after this trip to the ROCK. I would think that this is a bad move that may hurt them trying to find a good coach. This guy will not have a chance as this is the second game of the year.

I talk with Foley daily. Everyone is always little interested in going back home to turn things around.

Frankfort will be a solid team that should be playing Danville again for the district championship.

Foley has done a wonderful job at Frankfort. If he goes the program will miss him.

Maybe he realizes that he or no one else in that districit can beat Danville and it's time to move on.Danville has won that district since it's conception and with 17 starters coming back I'd say it will continue.

Foley is staying at Frankfort. He has went out and hired a couple of new assitants to help get over the hump. Bourbon missed the boat on a good coach.

I don't think that Foley or anyone else thinks that they can't beat Danville. Do they have an UPHILL battle no doubt, but I think that the gap is closing. Hey, 3 years ago is was a 60 point game, last year, cut that in half. Danville is no doubt where all central kentucky (if not entrie state) Class A teams strive to be, so why run, stay there and compete, battle, do whatever it takes.

That was a good move from Scott Co to Rockcastle Co. Not as bad in my opinion.

^^^^^^^^

You obvisouly don't know how bad Bourbon is.

You obvisouly dont know much about football in the state of Ky. ROCK is one of the most physical teams in the state, with the best team they have ever had coming back. They should not be playing Scott or ROCK. There are several other schools in the state that are just starting football this year that where looking for games. This may be one of the stupidest moves ever. If you want to try and built a football program.

I agree Tall Trees...I think that Bourbon needs to build their confidence...They have had a rough go at it the last few years and some of the kids might be discouraged...At the same time, they don't need to play against powderpuff teams either...They need teams that they can compete well with...The Rockcastle game will let them play against a great team, and gain some experience, but will the cons be too much for that one pro??

If I'm not mistaken, Coach Dahlstrom got $0.00 for the football budget. Everything that he purchased had to be raised and I believe a large part of that came from games like Scott Co. I am not sure how much Rockcastle is paying but if they raised $5,000.00+ on one game it may have been the only opportunity to have the money to purchase what was needed. I agree they need to find teams in the same situation and build upon that but sometimes you must do what you must do in order to survive.

They are getting $2000. Who is going to pay the forfeit fee when they do not have enough to play the rest of the season. There is alot of other ways to raise money other than just getting "Blood Money" . Bourbon has one of the states longest losing streaks and thier playing one of the top 5 AAA teams in the state.

I sure wouldn't play for that. It would have to be a large sum before I'd get in a situation like that.

Amen!!!

I guess a loss is a loss to them, my question is what in the world is Scott County and Rockcastle doing scheduling Bourbon, talk about buying a win.

I remember other teams getting blasted this past season for not scheduling up. It is nice to see someone has finally called these two programs out for playing Bourbon!!!
