Coacher Posted December 30, 2005 Posted December 30, 2005 Is the job open at West Jessamine open or are these just rumors? Where is coach Johnson going and why is he stepping down? DOES ANYONE KNOW IF THIS JOB IS ADVERTISED YET?

DOES ANYONE KNOW IF THIS JOB IS ADVERTISED YET? Not a rumor....he is done. He wants to go into administration and there is a job opening at WJ next year. He has to get his masters finished in administration in order for him to be able to apply for the job.
willydidit Posted December 30, 2005 Posted December 30, 2005 I have not seen this advertised. Are they accepting applications right now? Any names of the people that have applied? What about Randy Woods-former assistant, now at Morgan Co? Will he return?

Is the job posted? If so where? When will they conduct interviews and hire the position?
1&ONLY44 Posted December 30, 2005 Posted December 30, 2005 Wayne Stevens would be a great hire, beleive he has been there since he left Lexington Catholic.
Blackshirts Posted December 31, 2005 Posted December 31, 2005 I heard they want an experienced coach....not someone without a proven record or at least head coaching experience.
Nets Posted January 1, 2006 Posted January 1, 2006 Morgan Countians are biting their finger nails.... What Randy Wood has done for Morgan County is nothing short of amazing. Big time quality football coach. Everyone knows his connections to West Jessamine, etc. I would say Wood would be one of West Jessamines top choice, if not THE TOP CHOICE.

Especially since his wife still lives in Nicholasville.

I've been in Tennessee for about 6 years. I don't think I know Coach Wood, but his name sounds familiar. Were is he from and were all has he coached? Thanks in advance. I'll bet they are biting their finger nails big time...he has done an amazing job at Morgan. Has he shown interest in West Jess. or is everyone in West Liberty being "tight-lipped"?
Nets Posted January 2, 2006 Posted January 2, 2006 Randy Wood is from Tennessee...won a high school state championship there along with Kelly Holcomb who is now in the NFL...Wood was FB on that team. Some Morgan Countians are now aware of the situation thanks to BGP...and I'm sure once school gets started tomorrow at MCHS that he'll be a man everyone is wanting to look up and see what's up. I've heard nothing other than the WLEX-TV report of West Jessamine's coach going to PLD...I immediately began thinking about Coach Wood and knew the connections to West Jessamine, family, etc. and thought it was a good bet that they would come knocking on his door. I'm the last person in West Liberty who wants him to leave. He's a great friend of mine whom I respect a whole lot and enjoy every minute talking to and being around. He's taken arguably the worst football program in Kentucky over the last 15 years and made two consecutive trips to the playoffs and recorded the first ever playoff victory. This team wasn't too far away from making deeper runs. They played the AA State Champion to the max and he incorporated an offense that absolutely hammered some opponents. If my wishes come true, that would be to find a way to keep Randy Wood in Morgan County. This upcoming team has talent returning and a playoff run is a good possiblity again with what they have coming back. But whatever happens, and I don't want to prematurely say anything, but Coach Wood knows how people feel about him as a coach and person here in West Liberty...and ultimately wish him the best in his future endeavors, whether it be here at Morgan County or anywhere else in the state.
LoneRanger Posted January 2, 2006 Posted January 2, 2006 This job will likely draw quite a bit of interest.....
