Here's a couple I thought of: Chris and Casey Shumate at Male- Chris had nearly 2000 points and Casey was close to 1000. John and Zach Berry at Trinity Nathan, Jon, Paul, and Tim Akin at Christian Academy of Louisville.

Male dominated the first half being up by as many as 16 and went into halftime up 11. But Eastern went on a run and cut the lead to 5 in the 3rd quarter. Eastern got it to a one point deficit with under 2 minutes to go with the ball but couldn't capitalize. With about 10 seconds left and Male up 2, Ben Holman missed two freethrows but Male's Ross Herman got the offensive rebound and was fouled. He hit 1-2 of freethrows to put Male up 3. Eastern's Robert Buckner barely missed banking in a 3 pointer at the buzzer. Eastern was led by Buckner with 19. Male was led by Forrest Smallwood's 15 and Doug Beaumont's 19. But to me the player of the game was Ross Herman who ended up with 17 points, with many of those coming at key moments in the game, to go along with the big offensive rebound at the end of the game. A great came by both teams. Male looked great in the first half. Eastern could have easily folded it being down double digits but fought back. Male has big momentum going into the final week of the regular season.

Male's 7 games haven't been the easiest either. They beat Manual, Simon Kenton, St.X and Ballard. With Eastern tonight.

The hottest team in Louisville will be the winner of tonight's game between Eatern and Male. Male is on a 7 game winning streak and Eastern has proven they are a top team by making the finals of the 5/3 and winning the LIT. Whoever wins tonight will have momentum going into the last week of the season and on into the postseason.

It's funny how people can rip on UofL and UK when both teams are in the same boat. UofL fans have no room to rip UK and UK fans have no room to rip UofL.

I heard that one kid from Iroquois was suspended but not sure if anyone else. It would kill the schools if players were suspended. Could they suspend them for some of the postseason games? If so, that could kill a team like Fern Creek, who is in serious contention to win the region.

I heard that after the game, Fern Creek's players were walking to the locker room when Iroquois players and some fans jumped them from behind. Fern Creek had to be escorted to the bus out the back door. Somethings must have happened during the game, I guess maybe taunting and trash talking was going on. Whatever happened, I hope the right punishment is laid down. You always hate to hear when something like this happens.

Smallwood is playing his best as of late. He went for 21 against St.X, and 22 against Ballard. He is showing he is the leader for Male and is a serious favorite for player of the year in the 7th region. I seriously doubt Clark Co. last year was as good as E-Town this year. Plus they were much more experienced with Gravelle at the 2-guard last year. They have now moved Beaumont to the 2 and have Corey Gainey at the PG. He is good but not a scorer. Where last year Gravelle and Beaumont were able to go to the hoop and score.

It's gonna be exciting. And the good thing is the first round games won't be played at district winner sites, all the region games will be played at the Gardens. Along with the 11th region, it should be the most competitive and fun to watch.

I don't remember exaclty what teams were in the Toyota Classic last year, but did Male have to play a top 5 team in the state the first game last year? This is somewhat of an inexperienced team. They really only have 2-3 guys on the team this year with varisty experience (Beaumont, Smallwood, Herman). They have only played somewhere around 18 games where most other teams have played 23-26 games this year. The young guys seem to get better as the year goes on.

Losing by 5 to, IMO, a top 5 team in the state, is not poor. They went on to crush Simon Kenton and North Oldham. How can you give them a 0% chance to win the 7th. They are like 7-1 in the region and the one loss was by 1 point to J-Town in the first game of the year. IMO they are the favorite as of now, followed by J-Town, Eastern, and Fern Creek.

Totally agree with you. I think they are a bit overrated. Don't get me wrong they got some good ball players but they just don't look like they are motivated to win. Male does look good and looks to be peaking at the right time. They have won there last seven games with wins over Simon Kenton, Manual, St.X, and Ballard. They have Eastern at home on Friday andif they can win that they should have some big momentum going into the postseason.

Another great game between these two 7th region powers. Male looked great in the first half. Ballard got back some momentum in the 2nd half but couldn't hold off the Bulldogs.

Huge UofL fan here. Who is this Miller kid? Is he good enough to play at UofL? What year is he this year? What kind of player is he?

I heard the Jenkins kid is something special. I haven't seen him play this year but heard he was a heck of a player in 8th grade at South Oldham and is now starting as a Freshmen at Manual. Is he that good to be considered a Mr.Basketball candidate?

This kind of reminds me of my junior year at Male High School. Male was to play Ballard in the last game of the year, but Ballard cancelled because they would have played to many games on the year. This killed Male, because it was a Male home game and was being played at Old Male where it holds about 3,000 people and it was sold out. It figured to cost Male about 15-20 thousand dollars in ticket sales and concessions. Male played Brown in the first round of districts and took it out on them. I think the final score was 125-39 (I believe). I felt for Brown because they had nothing to do with it, but Male showed it was mad and didn't take out the starters (O'Bannon, Matheis, Bush, etc.) until the 4th quater. I hope SL has some remorse for Williamsburg.

ARE YOU SERIOUS???? I was gonna go to that game but instead decided to go to the CAL-St.X game. Dangit, I'm so mad at my self. With this win it means there is a 3 way tie at first in the district between Easter, CAL, and J-Town. How do they decide the district pairings if there is a 3 way tie?

Portland Christian's gym is horrible. I haven't been there in a few years but I remember it was really dark in there, only had one side of old wooden bleachers and in one corner of the floor there was a huge dead spot and could tell when players would dribble. Someone said they fixed up recently but about 5 years ago it was the pitts.

He had a great first half but he struggled as all the Eagles did in the second half.

The atmosphere was electric and the play was relentless. The Ballard of old finally showed up in tonights 20 point win. You could tell Ballard played with more intensity and passion unlike early in the season. Ballard was only up 2 going into the 4th quarter but blitzed the Eagles in the last period. Ballard was led by Johanne Hamilton and Twany Beckham, as well as David Stanely who hit at least 4 threes including two in the 4th quarter that put the Eagles away for good.

LOL. I was wondering if they were gonna be in the poll or not. If he is going by school letter they are and H school. If he is going by the first letter in the school name than they are an M.
