  1. Congrats J-town on the win last night. They have somewhat of a disadvantage with Johnson Centrals coach being able to scout the game last night. But I think J-town's talent prevails wednesday night. Ballard is my pick to win state for next year, they return to much talent next year, not to make a serious run at a state title.
  2. Graves Co. John Hardin J-town Shelby Co. Warren Central Covington Catholic Madison Cent. PRP John Hardin J-town Cov. Cath. PRP J-town PRP PRP TB-135
  3. I have to work tomorrow and want to listen to the games on the computer. Is there a website I can go to, to listen to them?? Any help would be great. Thanks
  4. I think we know just about everything. The ref told his story for about an hour Saturday night at the Gardens to reporters. If the ref is smart he is hoping that he doesn't ref the game tonight, because everyone knows who he is now, and he will catch flack from everyone there, especially the Ballard fans. Could you imagine if the game is close and this ref made a questionable call at the end that won the game for either team??? That would be interesting.
  5. Couldn't agree with you more. If a coach knows that a certain official graduated from an opposing school and is scared when they play them he might be biased, then scratch him. Let's say the top 3 officials in the 7th region, 2 graduated from J-Town and the other from Ballard do you keep them out of the final game??? Officials are out there to do one job and one job only, call a clean and fair game. When it comes to tourney time you have to have your top officials out there no matter what.
  6. Don't worry everyone will know who he is after tonight. He did interviews for about an hour tonight. It will be on all the news channels in Louisville tonight. The game has been moved to Monday. No word on where it will be held. This means the winner will have one day between the region finals and their first game in the Sweet 16. By far a big disadvantage for them. It was shame to see this happen to these teams. They had nothing to do with it, and just wanted to play.
  7. Male shot themselves in the foot during this game. Missed some costly free throws in the 4th and when the lead started to build, they started to throw up three after three and just weren't hitting. Congrats to the Chargers, but I like Ballard to win the region tonight.
  8. The J-Town-Male game. The gentlemen that signs officials for the Louisville area had no idea those two officials were alumni of Male. He could have easily had assigned 3 guys that graduated from Male to that game. I understand where J-Town is coming from, it would seem a little fishy that they graduated from the opposing team school, but when the officials are out there I don't really think they are gonna cheat for their alma mater. So, are they now gonna have to keep officials out of big games because they are an alumni of one of the schools. What if he/she is the top official in the region but just happened to go to be a graduate. That is ridiculous. You are gonna be punishing officials because of where they graduated. Not fair to them.
  9. It was more painful watching Trinity's first quarter offense, only 2 points and first half offense only 9 points.
  10. I sad I listened to the first half and it was ugly. Didn't listen to the second hlaf. It was 21-9 (I think) at halftime. To me 9 points at the half is UGLY.
  11. Listened to themost of the first half on the radio. It sounded ugly. Big 4th quarter for the Dawgs. It will be a heck of a game Friday evening against J-Town.
  12. WOW...the two best and most competitve games, you have as a blow out!!! Here are my predictions: St.X 58 Moore 55 Eastern 76 Ballard 70 Male 59 Trinity 51 J-Town 79 Fern Creek 78 (OT)
  13. IMO Ballard is gonna have a tough time getting out of their side of the bracket. Playing Eastern was a bad draw for them. It's a rivalry game and no matter had good or bad either team is playing at that time, you throw the records out the window and any team can win. Then if they get past Eastern they will probably have to play St.X which has beaten them already once this season in the Gardens. Ballard has been to inconsistent this year. At times they have shown they can beat big teams and at other times they don't seem to be a top 10 team in the region. I think they make it to the finals but will get beat by who ever comes out of the bottom bracket. Fern Creek, Male and J-Town are playing some of their best ball of the year right now and which ever of those teams makes it won't get beat.
  14. Wow...those are some big first round game. Ballard-Eastern, Male-Trinity, J-Town-Fern Creek. Any of those games could easily be a region final game. You gotta say the winner of the Ballard-Eastern game has an easier draw, playing the winner of Moore-St.X. It will be an interesting week of games.
  15. I heard the draw was at 1:00 p.m. today and was wondering if anyone had any info on what the outcome was?
  16. The KHSAA must have something against J-Town, because they had them losing to CAL the other night and now losing to Eastern. J-Town was in control of this game most of the way. It was a very physical and fast paced game. There were more fouls than I could count called, and Eastern had no one to help out Buckner with the scoring. Eastern seems to be on the slide some what and J-Town seems to be playing well.
  17. To me the talent in the urban/suburban areas has more parity. In the Louisville and Lexington area every team has great athletesand ball players, some more than others but every school has them. For example, Moore against Fern Creek. I've seen both play this year and both have very athletic teams. Fern Creek, I think has better coaching which helps them more. But on any given night a team with the athleticsm as Moore can win, and it happened last night. When you get out into the rural areas the population is lower, therefore the students are lower. So they don't have the crop that the Louisville/Lexington teams have. So usually there is one team that is superior to the others, and all the good athletes wanna go there because they have a better chance of winning. Bottom line is there are more schools and more students in the urban/suburban areas than the rural, which means there are more athletes spread throughout the many schools, which gives them more parity.
  18. Douglas Beaumont of Male High School who plays Football, Basketball and runs track.
  19. I haven't seen either team play all year, so this is a total guess on my part. I say John Hardin by 3....75-72 in OT.
  20. Final. Male wins the 25th district over the Tigers. Male looks to be hitting at the right time going into the region tourney.
  21. This is the first I am hearing of this. Can anyone elaborate on what happened?? Compound fracture of what? How did he do it? Who was the player?? I know Coach Edelin from Waggener and he is a supurb man. I hate to hear this about anyone. My wishes and prayers are with the young man on a full recovery.
