  1. I think the free throw discrepency was due to Dixie's style of pressure defense. They overplay every player with a lot of pressure. I've seen some very lopsided officiating this season (some in NL's favor), I even mentioned in a thread or two. I did not notice any bias towards the home team in this one. I did notice some extremely biased officiating against NL by one of the three officials. Until the last 30 seconds of the game, every single whistle that he blew was against NL. At a crucial moment of the game he even gave Dixie a time out without posession of the ball. Coincidence? Maybe, maybe not. On a more positive note...Seidel has been unbelievable for NL this season. Yet another buzzer beater to either win, or send the game into OT. IMO Adrian Wardrup's emergence, and understanding of his role, has been a big key in the way NL has been playing. That, along with the improvement of their late game press, could make a very dangerous team come tournament time. Also: 32 for Dixie is a player!
  2. They draw, and since Jackson County is the swing vote on whether to vote or seed, I would love to see the draw cost them a trip to the Regional Tournament.
  3. Maybe of 2008, but definately not 2007. That had to be 9/1/2007. :ylsuper:
  4. I thought Stenzel went our with a little over a minute left in the game. NL was down 7 with about 3:30 left in the game, began pressing, and GRC didn't handle it very well. What a shot by Seidel to send it to overtime. It was about a 25 footer, with 3 GRC defenders all over him. They actually could have called a foul on the shot.
  5. I'm down here in Nashville, and was told the same story. I bet my source is the same as yours there, Chachi.
  6. 12 on #5 (at the time) USF. This is exactly 4 times the points that MSU gave up.
  7. Holding a Conference Champion that averages 38+ points to only 3 not impressive? I think you must be mixing something in the the kood ade that your drinking. Hooch anyone?
  8. By looking at the facts, your "jump" appeared to be more of a "fall". :ylsuper:
  9. I think a lower level SEC team holding C-USA's #1 to 3 points is impressive. Especially since UCF was averaging over 38 points per game.
  10. According to Chip Cosby of the Lexington Herald Leader, UK starting right guard, Jason Leger is suspended for the Music City Bowl. Leger is a Rockcastle County grad, and, imo, the most consistent OL that UK has. Bad break for the Cats, and a horrible way for Leger to end his UK career. Says he was suspended for "violation of team rules". http://www.kentucky.com/232/story/271310.html
  11. I am not a "Corbin Hater" as you would state. I live 3 hours from here and was in town visiting and decided to watch a game between two good teams. What I saw, IMO, was lopsided officiating. I know alot of people who would agree with that assumption. Corbin is a good team, like I said before. Since you insist on calling me a "Corbin Hater" I can't help but question your fanhood, because you are obviously a Corbin fan stating these comments. The 13th Region is better this year, but like you said, they have plenty of good teams. The 11th have 3 to state title contenders.
  12. I've got a couple extra rooms at the West End Hampton Inn. It's about 1 mi from the strip on Broadway, a very nice hotel that we stayed at last year. They have a shuttle to the game, but Cab fare was less than $10. PM me if anyone needs one, I can switch it over. I think they are around $175 per night.
  13. I agree, but I also think this is much easier said than done.
  14. I thought you didn't watch it? Madison Central could compete for the 11th if they had a shooter or two. I've watched them play the last two nights, and haven't noticed anyone who can hit the 3 with any consistency.
  15. Not true. The officiating of both of the late games at NL tonight was embarrassing. Very lopsided in the favor of Corbin. And as get@em said, there was one particular official that made 90% of the bad calls. He did the same thing in the NL Rock game. It was truly sad.
  16. Brothers Johnson in Dayton's Hara Arena, around 1977-78. I was a teenager, and my older sister took me. We were the ONLY 2 white people in the concert. Decent show, she has quite the personality, we ended up being the life of the party, dancing with many, and we ended up having a great time.
  17. SL's coach Steve Wright blamed the NL loss to his teams poor "foul line defense", saying they didn't guard NL's FT shooters very well. I'd blame this one on SL's transition defense, because Corbin ran them completely out of the gym. I guess it could be the "wazoo curse", since SL is 0-2 on wazoosports.com.
  18. With or without Crawford, Corbin wins this one. I'd say Corbin by 5.
  19. This was a great game to watch. Typical game played at JCHS, very physical play. NL made an excellent comeback after being down a bunch early. Officiating went from nearly out of control, allowing all sorts of contact, to very tightly called at the very end. Brumback is an animal, and uses the glass like an old school player. I really like watching him play. I don't know why JC quit going to him for such a long stretch. I like NL's chances a lot in a rematch in the District Tournament, which I believe is at NL.
  20. Anyone want to bet he ends up playing for Happy at Georgetown? I bet in time that is exactly where he ends up.
  21. I go way back and don't recall a player wearing them.
  22. NL didnt have a player with rec specs 2 years ago. Seidel wears them now, but this is his first year wearing them, and last season was his first at NL
