  1. I would not have relished tackling him play after play back in the day. It doesn’t take long for most defensive teams to weary of his constant pounding.
  2. SW will win by three TDs. The Spartan defense gives the Spartan offense great field position. Yes SW makes mistakes and yes they get some penalties but that defense covers for most of that. Spurrier is not going to be a Power 5 QB but he can put the ball on the money and doesn't throw interceptions. I really do not see this game ever being in doubt.
  3. Watched a little bit of Taylor. They looked really good. A bit more on Tre Bass: Opened the game with an 89 yd KOR for a TD 14 Rushing attempts for 215 yards and 4 TD Caught a pass (yes, FS threw a pass) for 24 yds. That is 328 All purpose yards and 5 TDs. Carlos McKinney had 18 carries for 134 yds and 2 TDs. Not a bad night.
  4. Tre Bass with 196 all purpose in the 1st quarter
  5. The grounds crew was painting the field for the 1st round playoff game. The same thing happened. Lights out. Didn’t hurt their momentum at all. When the lights came on they finished the job.
  6. Without question the Cats biggest challenge for several weeks. Logan has been eyeing this matchup for a year. Biggest thing? The Cougars think they can come to Shadetree and win. And they are justified in holding those thoughts. This will be the "Battle of the Big Cats".
  7. I believe I saw where BG had won 17 straight against Owensboro. If you had told me 50 years ago BG would EVER win 5 straight against Owensboro I would have said you were bat____ crazy. Never happen. Sometime this streak will end. This appears to be Owensboro's best shot in quite some time.
  8. I think E-town wins this. The first game of the year they looked like a team that was really close to being extremely good. Ten games later they have become used to winning and they are at home. This is one of those teams that when they line up offensively or on defense they look confident and they execute. Should be a good one.
  9. 41-0 at the half. Running clock started midway through the 2nd. Final was 41-7.
  10. Must be some serious Kentucky consideration. Lot of buzz. We'll see. Robinson and Bowden together? Interesting.
  11. It is difficult to judge a team like Logan Co. Their best opponent on the schedule was Madisonville. A loss. Their next best opponent was Hopkinsville. The Tigers would win against every Logan opponent except Madisonville. Logan did run roughshod over all opponents except Madisonville and Hopkinsville. One has to say that Logan, Madisonville, and Hoptown are all on equal footing. The combined scores of Logan v. Hoptown/Madisonville? 27-27. ACS played four teams that combined for 33 wins. FS, Glasgow, Grayson, Pulaski. They beat Grayson, played Glasgow tougher than most, and had a shot at beating Pulaski. A win over Logan would not be a shocker. The Cougars should not overlook ACS in their zeal to get at Franklin-Simpson.
  12. Long ride, highly motivated opponent, rough field with high grass. It was 17-0 entering the fourth quarter. Meade scored on a couple of hail mary passes. FS got serious and had a good KO run back then three straight first downs. Took a knee on the 8 yd line. FS had 355 rushing and 393 TO. Meade ran for 71 and had 132 passing for 203 total. Game was not in doubt.
  13. Logan is hosting Allen County. Warren East is hosting Hopkinsville. Some locals think ACS will give Logan a run. I'm not one of that particular thought.
  14. Likely week two opponent is Logan County. The Cougars have been itching for a matchup with FS. Likely week three opponent is Madisonville. After last year's beatdown, 62-6, you know Madville will come to Shadetree MAD. If there is a week four? A trip to either Louisville Moore or John Hardin? No picnics being served at either place.
  15. Russellville going through what a lot of Single A teams face. There are years when you are rebuilding but your box of blocks is a little light. Give Coach Benton time. The Panthers will be back.
  16. 7:00 PM Kickoff 7:05 PM FS 7-0 Good start.
  17. Warren East has thrown for over 200 yds in four games and 352 yds against Wayne Co. I have a feeling they may try to throw it around against FS. Of course against ACS Franklin Simpson ran for 454, threw for 133, and scored 54 points. WE ran for 176 threw for 220 and scored 23points.
  18. That Homecoming Game was the last straw for Jody Ellis’s term at BG.
  19. On the turf at WE. The last trip FS make to the blue Turf did not go well. Last season’s FS/WE game was nearly a CATastrophe.
