Franklin-Simpson 53 Russellville 6

Featured Replies

Russellville going through what a lot of Single A teams face. There are years when you are rebuilding but your box of blocks is a little light. Give Coach Benton time. The Panthers will be back.

Not surprising. FS should roll in the playoffs

Likely week two opponent is Logan County. The Cougars have been itching for a matchup with FS.

Likely week three opponent is Madisonville. After last year's beatdown, 62-6, you know Madville will come to Shadetree MAD.

If there is a week four? A trip to either Louisville Moore or John Hardin? No picnics being served at either place.

I have a hard time seeing anyone give FS much of a game till Johnson Central and as long as FS is healthy, I don't see that as being much of a game either.

Russellville gained a lot more yardage in this game than I would have thought, but the FS offense and special teams were overwhelming and the defense bent a little but didn’t break.

FS is rolling and I just don’t see any team short of Johnson Central having enough talent to stop them in the playoffs. If FS loses before Lexington, it will be largely because of a lackluster performance by the Wildcats. I have rarely seen bad performances by Coach Preston’s teams. They occasionally lose to teams that are just simply better than they are, but not because of lack of coaching or effort.

I'm not taking anything away from those teams. Who knows what will happen, but as of right now, I just don't see anyone in their part of bracket being able to beat FS right now. While I think Logan County has come a long way, I still think they are more of a product of their schedule. Outside of Hop-town and Madisonville, they really didn't play anyone that great. Madisonville is a good team and I wouldn't be shocked to see that game be closer then expected. But in Franklin, I don't see it happening. I don't know too much about Moore or John Hardin, so I could those teams giving FS a fight.

I think Johnson Central will be tough for anyone in 4a to beat. Don’t know much about Franklin-Simpson, but them struggling with Meade County is a little surprising. Maybe just a bad game?

Long ride, highly motivated opponent, rough field with high grass.

It was 17-0 entering the fourth quarter. Meade scored on a couple of hail mary passes. FS got serious and had a good KO run back then three straight first downs. Took a knee on the 8 yd line. FS had 355 rushing and 393 TO. Meade ran for 71 and had 132 passing for 203 total. Game was not in doubt.
