I own a gun and have access to as many others as I want. I love shooting guns. Love the way they feel in my hands and love drilling a target dead-center — and I have plenty of experience doing so. Would plug anybody who wanted to get froggy. Now, from that standpoint, I have issues. Why are my concerns invalid?

What does this say about third-generation German-Americans who still go out of their way to make sure their kids can speak HochDeutsch and Low-Saxon? As well as Midwestern English? Are they less American, even though Opa fought for the US after getting out of Germany just in time to avoid being conscripted into Hitler's Army? I know what you're going to say, but it's really no different than today's third-generation Mexicans or, dare I say, Arabs, teaching their kids their native language. Just a different skin color.

I can't say about this guy. Theoretically the mental health care system would catch this. Of course, we all know about theories. My point being, if mental health care in this country, from the standpoint of the general citizenry, weren't stuck in the mindset of "lobotomize them all!" or to a lesser extreme "institutionalize them all!" we might have a lesser problem. Treatment goes a long way, but sadly the results aren't immediate enough to satisfy a "results now" culture.

Didn't make it — I'm postponing for my July vacation. Just too damned hot the past two days with me driving a big black Caddy with black leather seats and black interior, and no A/C.
