I can't get over how many of you are OK with the US being a Police State.

Those late jumps also get me. Ugh.

It sounds like some people feel we've devolved as a culture into our own worst stereotypes, all across the board. I'm not sure how I feel about that, honestly.

Why did DOJ change "Allah" to God in transcript?
Jim Schue replied to jericho's topic in Controversial Issues
Sorry. That argument just wears me out. To suggest that it's different Gods, even though all three religions sprang from the same source, is just mind-boggling. It's either willful, spiteful ignorance, or an extreme arrogance of faith from the standpoint of "that couldn't have come from us." Sorry, but it did. -
Those autostart videos chap my backside. Whoever came up with that idea, as well as the wrap-around half-page ads fronting many newspapers these days, has earned a special place in Hell.

Public Schools: Tuition and Scholarships
Jim Schue replied to ATLCat's topic in KY Football (High School)
If independents have any advantage over county public schools, when it comes to football, it's this: Most county schools were combined from several smaller schools out in the county, most of which didn't play football, perhaps because there weren't enough boys available. Most independents in Ky have been playing football 90-100 years. Most county schools have maybe 45-50 years invested (barely invested, in the case of some schools). It's as simple as that. It's also why most county schools in the state think of themselves as "basketball schools." -

So, you're basically saying there were two different Moseses and two different Abrahams? Because Muslims, Christians and Jews all sprung from these men. The God of Abraham is the same in all three religions. All three just disagree on how to worship Him. Jesus is consider a prophet in Islam. -
Clay Travis: Calipari is paying players
Jim Schue replied to Jumper_Dad's topic in College Basketball
That's a whole lot of dirt and lawyers are good at snooping under rugs. Like I said, Cal will be strongly advised against this course of action. The wiser course of action would be to come up with another deflective talking point to get the national media talking about something else, like he did with the Willis incident. -

I'm going to lobby for a form of the Ted Stepien rule next year. -
R.I.P. Bernie Worrell, of Parliament/Funkadelic and Talking Heads * Newswire * The A.V. Club

It is with great sadness that the Class of 2016 has claimed another luminary. Bernie Worrell, legendary keyboardist/pianist/arranger for Parliament/Funkadelic and Talking Heads during their most successful periods, has died of lung cancer. Appreciate. It's been a terrible year for rock star deaths, and we're not halfway through yet. :(

Hadorn's Bakery in downtown Bardstown is a must. They do the original Yum-Yums. I'm also a big fan of their apple jacks and pecan danishes. I've been trying to cut down over the past year though so I've not visited in a while, sadly. I always loved getting together with my mom's family in Iowa during Christmas. That meant at least one night we would be making Ferdins, a type of German doughnut. They always dusted them in grain sugar when they first came out of the fryer. Never occurred to them until my suggestion about 10 years ago that powdered sugar might hold better, and taste better. Winner, and cultural revolutionary!
