  1. APNW--Looks good as are your comments. New Cath could be a wild card and I don't think we've got an idea how good BW is yet? Agree with some others wide margin between #1 & #2, and CCH's brutal schedule will give them an unenviable record come late November. Still think Dixie will be up & down; and Ryle/Campbell will tell if there's a clear # 2 in the NKY big schools!!
  2. 7--Cincy St. X 5--Louisville St. X 3--John Hardin 2--Meade County 1--S. Oldham TB--Cincy St. X
  3. I really see this as close, and don't think Ryle is as good right now as Boone??
  4. Looks to be set up for a defensive battle to me, and I'm guessing it will be decided by key turnovers; as there would appear to be little margin for error on either side. I'm looking for the Camel "O" to show better than against Boone, as they are still getting used to their varsity roles, especially Kidwell. I'll expect this game on the NKY contest roster!! Pick-em!!
  5. They had to decide to go varsity this season, or reapply in several years; so they went ahead and made the move for this year. Their reward was Beechwood in their first district game, and a very up year for the "river schools" in their district. May be a rude introduction to varsity play, but they'll show up and compete as best they can!!
  6. Wonder what game that could be--A game of such importance to move this game?? Heard the same rumor, but I doubt it will happen??
  7. Can't believe someone actually started a thread on this one, but then maybe I can?? A Brossart win would make Appy State's win look like they were the favorite!! Interesting way for the flegling Mustang program to start their journey into District Varsity play???? Seriously if you're BW, do you even start your starters?? Risking a major injury to a BW frontliner or two on fluke accidents in a game like this would be downright silly?? BB, like Cheesehead said is a long way from fielding a team to compete with the likes of a major 1-A power like the Tigers. The Mustangs will give it their all, but will be outweighed about 70 lbs. per player across the lines; and that's just the physical differences?? Obviously BW can name the score in this one, and all I'll hope for is everyone to emerge healthy from a contest like this!! I expect to see the full Tiger roster get playing time in this game!! It takes years to build a competitive football program, and it takes more than "competitive" to play with a program like the Tigers--Many have been trying to for decades!!
  8. You guys crack me up?? You all could get offended in an empty room!! Back to the game--Congrats to Boone on a decisive victory, and best of luck to both the rest of the season!! I think they may see each other again??
  9. The comment about the Camel faithful, which by the way its good to see are finally showing up; was simply that they were touting the powerful offense and a sound victory vs. Boone, off the showing against two weak teams?? Guys, anyone can feel free to predict anything, but be prepared to eat a little crow when you're wrong--I know I've had to do so a few times?? Don't be so sensitive, nobody's knocking the Camels, they've got a good club; maybe just not in Boone's league yet--No disgrace!!
  10. I'm certainly not "busting the Camels chops"?? Simply asked what happened to their offense, which had be outstanding in the first couple games; and I was surprized they got shut out. Maybe that had something to do with the opponents, but it's still surprizing to me?? Camels will be fine and may reel off 4 or 5 in a row, as Boone appears to be a cut above everyone up here except Highlands.
  11. Congrats to Bourbon on breaking their streak. Now keep the winning streak going!! :thumb:
  12. Wow--I thought Boone would be the first test for the Camels, but not dominate like this?? I know the Campbell faithful were predicting a better showing against Boone?? Did the Camels' "O" just not show up, or did Boone dominate the lines like many expected?? Sounds like Camels have a ways to go before they can tout themselves among the big school elite in NKY?
  13. Or the celebrating start for the 'Birds??
  14. Still wouldn't be a match for "T" or "X" because you'd still be a public, and you know what your super would say about that????
  15. Doesn't sound too underrated to me?? Having watched him for all those years and earlier, I never thought of him as underrated--Surrounded by talent on all sides--yes; a very fine player--yes; underrated--NO??
  16. "There must be an offense up there somewhere??"
  17. Old Guy--The lines seem to have long been a strength for CovCath, but seem particularly weak so far this year. I know they are breaking in a lot of new starters, but with everyone seemingly pointing fingers at the skill position players, the "O" line in particular seems to be in disarray; do they have a new O-line coach/new schemes?
  18. 7--Mercer County 5--St. Xavier 3--Scott County 2--Boyle County 1--W. Jessamine TB--Mercer County
  19. 7--Bellevue 5--Boone County 3--Whitley County 2--Dixie Heights 1--Conner TB--Bellevue
  20. I don't think you can call CovCath (NCC) or Dixie (Beechwood) "weaker big school programs"?? CCH might be down this year, and Dixie is taking a while getting their "O" going, but weak programs??
  21. I'd guess Highlands, Grant County and possibly Mason County (Morris is still there isn't he?) would be the 9th region favorites that come to mind??
  22. Not trying to "downplay" anyone Oscar?? Just saying if you think enough of a kid to give him the start in your first game, give him more than one quarter against an obviously superior team with a very good defense (LaSalle gave up 7 points to Indy Cathedral today), before hooking him???? Sorry if I consider a late score when you're down almost 40 points a "garbage score", but what would you call it, a meaningful drive?? I agree, and said so about the "O" line being the main problem right now, but losing Buckley figures huge as well!! I'm sure they'll get back to work and improve; but their schedule is a monster?? PS: Let's give some credit to NCC's "D" for CCH's offensive woes today--Sounded like their line really controled the line of scrimmage. Very good game plan by Schneider & Co. as well.
  23. You may be right?? Campbell figures to be the toughest team on their schedule, and there's certainly some winable ones on the slate.
  24. Listening to the game, I'd say to try some quick hitting type plays; not the power running/sweeps that kept losing ground all day?? Buckley was a huge loss, especially since it sounds like they planned to "ride" him early on; while they settled on a QB and the line gained some experience. They were having some success with the short passing game it sounded like, but kept trying the same old power running which apparently had little chance of success due to "O" line issues?? They really sound somewhat in disarray, especially on the offensive side of the ball; and may need some personnel moves on the O-line, like their announcers were commenting. The "D" handed them the ball in great field position several times, but they could do nothing with it when it was still very much a game. Why did Coach B go away from Wehry so quickly this year, after only one quarter of action vs. a very tough LaSalle team?? He was #2 all last season, and its not like his replacement is lighting it up--7 garbage points in 7 quarters, including a shutout vs. against a much smaller school that they've dominated lately?? Sounds kinda hasty to me?? Could be a long year in Colonel-Land, and Coach R. certainly did the new coach no favors with this schedule in what figured to be a rebuilding year??
