The fouls that were not called on Rowan in the 16th region were called at Diddle. That resulted in major foul trouble which resulted in the Lady Vikings getting beat 60-49 by a team they were favored against.

Raceland's Key-- guard play East-scoring from all starters Rowan- replacing the torrid defense and leadership of Spurlock and Barr. Ashland--picking up on Ward's departing numbers in scoring and rebounding.Elliott Co. replacing their center and improving defense. Russell--finding a point guard and replacing Sparks' leadership while adjusting to a different coach. West- replacing the versatility of Cox and getting more scoring besides Stephens. Lewis- getting some kind of inside threat. Boyd- some kind of scoring improvemnt. Morgan- help for Eagle on both ends. Everyone else will keep rebuilding.

RHCS had a heckuva team,as did Russell. Queen was the difference. Kidwell has the boys playing hard and will keep them in the right direction. Did a quality job with the girls. Administration must have thought so too.

Rickyp I believe your wrong on the number of girls on that team. Just off the top of my head I can think of 12 girls on that team.

The names that Madeleine Albright posted really surprise me. I didn't think some of the names were known outside the 16th region let alone in the 9th region.

Correct me if I'm wrong but you can play as long as you don't turn 19 before August 10th. I'm not sure on the the date but its in that area.

Please get your facts straight the only times Ashland played Rose Hill in the down years would be in the district. All you will need to do is to look it up. We did play Rose Hill one time during the regular season a few years ago it was when Ed Jenkins was the coach.

The other option play the first round at East Carter. You could also play at the district winner like we did a few years ago.

The floor at Weatherby is so slick you wonder who made the choice to play there.

The better team won the game Friday night. Looking forward to playing Rose Hill in the finals.

It seems like every thread we bash the officiating in every game. A great game last night the better team won. The Tomcats played a great game and just came up a little short. Just think next week we get to complain about the 9th region officiating. Most of the people who complain about the way a game is called would not be able to call a grade school game.

Johnny High was at Whitsburg for a while. He did a lot for that program while he was there.

The person who could help us with girls basketball in the 16th region is Big Bubba he knows his girls basketball. We miss his views on the teams and games.

The only reason Ashland lost is Rose Hill is a better team. A coach and referee who were college roomates 20 years ago is not the reason we lost .

A great game for Rose Hill. The Tomcats were beat on the boards, shooting and just about everything else. What station does Rose Hill use for their games I trying to listen to it after the game.

The game with Ashland must be played before Feb 13 .that is the day of the district meeting . Rose Hill still has a game with Boyd County that was cancelled when will it be played. I can't believe 2 games in one night back to back after playing last night at Sheldon Clark.
