Despite what some of the T people think, Mike was the coach for the right reasons. No on or off field problems, large turnouts, and generally playing time for everyone when he could. He was a victim, I think, of not altering that offense to become more wide open, and as a result we began losing some skilled athletes (QB, WR). No one wanted 30-35 passes a game. 15 to 20, with some on first down, and not just one or two receivers, would have satisfied the masses. Having said that, he knew how to win, wear other teams down, give his players confidence to know they would win, even if behind. He kept 100 players happier with a 10 game schedule than Beragmini did with 15 players and a 28 game schedule.

I am admittedly a Mike Glaser fan. My problem is that we don't name head coaches to learn the trade at our expense. He should have won the first year but changed the talent to play a style different than what they were prepared for. I still see issues on the field with timing of timeouts, use of clock, etc. All experience issues.

I went to St. X and officiate football for several years. I expected more from them, so probably didn't help them at all. I stopped having their games when I started knowing the players who went to school with my son.

I'll take the B+. It's time for the Wolford experiment to end.

Admittedly I know nothing about this, but I do recall when Redmond was at Male the coaches would laugh about the "sophomore draft", kids transferring in as sophomores who could not get in as freshmen. This resulted in other schools playing some as freshmen because of transfer rules. Bobby did the same thing.

Didn't say they were. Just as a parent you want your child to enjoy the experience and to be able to say he got to play in a state championship game.

You may be right. I don't know. However, I suspect there are some parents of players who did not get into the game who might not agree with you.

It was 42-21 at the end of 3. At what point did it go to 49-21? Was the Lafayette QB out of the game at that point? If so, what realistically were their chances of scoring?

Wasn't at the game. Didn't see it. Waited until this morning to see the stats before commenting. Can't condone any of Lafayette's actions as described on here. I don't think anyone can. I can see however where there might be frustration and anger when T goes into the 4th quarter up 21, and adds another 14 with their first team offense still playing. When does it become apparent that you need to call the dogs off?

So we lose momentum going into playoffs, risk injuries against team generally as big or bigger than us, and at the least, come out a little banged up. I like the series, just not last.

Why do we schedule this game the week before playoffs?

Hey Everybody. I only responded to what might be another stadium big enough to hold a crowd. I said Manual. I never suggested giving up the home field advantage, except in general terms, since the home field is not determined by records, but by the scheduling, I have always thought a neutral field would be good.

Obviously, given the past history in all sports, X will try to stay within the family. Sometimes this is good, sometimes not. Based on a conversation I had several years ago with the powers that be, unless there has been a dramatic change of heart, there will not be a national search. Todd Walsh has certainly earned his stripes, and at least deserves a look. I agree we need someone with coaching experience, and I would prefer head coaching experience. I do believe the HC for football needs to be in the school, as there are so many players to deal with and learn about. Rumors a few years ago centered around Stephon Lefors. Might be an excellent choice considering his character and success at CAL. Obviously numbers have not decreased under Wolford. Actually appear to have increased. 18,000 in attendance might be the sign that we need to do something. At its peak 30000 plus.
