No. Officials with strong ties to specific schools should take it upon themselves to block those schools so they aren't assigned to them. Just being a graduate of a school, to me, isn't a big deal.

If a coach has a problem with a specific official, they have the open to scratch them from future assignments as well, however, I think coaches have a limited # of scratches available to them.

Neither. Just curious. Saw some calls in a big game recently that were suspect, yet consistent among themselves. (I.e. balls for Team A, strikes for Team B). Not saying this was intentional, but we're all human and subject to temptation. Balls thrown over the middle of the plate, just below the batter's belt, called ball for Team A. Very poor calls, regardless of whether temptation was involved.

Not going to names names/teams because I won't take anything away from the players who all played hard and to the best of their ability. I do believe the outcome of the game was impacted, though.

Heck, I'm not even sure this official was an alum from the school, just seemed so imbalanced behind the plate. People from the benefiting team seemed just as miffed at the calls but, hey, they were getting the good end of the stick, so, no complaints.

You and I know many many many officials that do just that as they should. However in my volunteer job, Ive came across many many many that dont (that should) and do some things that could be perceived as shady.

So by the title alone you are calling the individual a cheater and unethical based on ???

He is not calling the official a cheater, just biased. Bias can be unintentional or intentional.

And, with high certainty he is talking about official number 9 from the CCHS/BW game yesterday. Usually when a official is poor, it's poor both ways.... different here. I assure you not only did the losing team and parents recognize this, but the winning team and parents also. That is all I will say about it. I was 300 feet away so I make no judgement, just observations from others.

Hold all sour grapes comments. I did want BW to win... obviously, but I am happy for the boys I know on Cov Cath.

#9 is not from NKY.

Generally, when I hear "right down the middle at the belt" it's never right down the middle at the belt. Not all umpires are good behind the plate. #9 is really good behind the plate. I'm sure there were pitches from both sides that fans/coaches/players disagreed with. Of course, the person with the best angle is right behind the plate but I digress.

So, I'm sure this game was filmed. If you can find a pitch right down the middle at the belt that was balled I'll write a $100 check to your favorite charity. Note: I'm not talking about ball 4 in the 7th on a low pitch. I'm talking "down the middle at the belt."

I've seen the opposite of what most are worried about here. My experience is that many "Homer" officials that I've seen bend over backwards to the point of being biased against their alma mater. I've seen some that were biased towards their old team but I've seen it the opposite just about as much.

Clyde just sent you a PM with a photo of 2-2 pitch in the 7th. Make your check out to the Brighten Center.
